Latest Update: JNTU will soon commence the counseling process for the MBA course. The admission into the course is commenced via the entrance examination of AP ICET. The entrance examination has been conducted and the result has been declared. The counseling process is scheduled to start in the second week of December 2020.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is situated in Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh. The University was established by the Act of the Legislature of the state of Andhra Pradesh on 18th August 2008. It is ranked as the 6th best institute according to the NIRF Ranking among the colleges in Andhra Pradesh. 

There are in total 4 specializations offered by the JNTUA in the field of Management. The specializations offered in the field are Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Systems Management.

Candidates must have passed mathematics as one of the subjects in the Bachelor’s course to pursue the Management course.

Candidates must have appeared for the AP ICET entrance examination to pursue the Management course.

JNTUA MBA Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed their Bachelor’s program and must have a subject of Mathematics in the degree in any field except BFA and BOL offered by the State Universities/colleges of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Candidates who have not studied Mathematics as a subject at Bachelor’s level must have studied Mathematics in class 10 and class 12 level.
  • Candidates must have obtained a valid score in the AP ICET entrance exam.

JNTUA MBA Application Guidelines 

Candidates must sit for the AP ICET entrance examination for the MBA course. Candidates need to obtain a valid score and counseling session to get admission into the Management course. 

How to Apply?

  • Candidates must register themselves for the AP ICET exam on the official website of the statutory body.
  • After the results are out, the candidates must apply for the counseling process.
  • Candidates can appear for the counseling process and after meeting the cutoff of the JNTU, can fill the admission form for the same.
  • After filling the admission form, candidates can pay the fees and can submit the documents to the institute required for admission.

The entire course work is divided into four semesters. Each semester is commenced of 20 weeks including all the end and mid-term examinations.

To write the end-term examinations, candidates must attain at least 75% attendance on a cumulative basis in all the subjects. Condonation of percentage if it is less up to 10% can be given by the Principal of the institute. The theory examination carries 60% of the total marks of the examination while 40% of the total marks are carried by the Internal Evaluation which makes it a total of 100 marks. The credit requirement for the course work is 28.

Along with it, candidates need to submit the thesis/project work in the given time frame upon approval of the topic from the institute’s authorities. A special committee is maintained to look after the progress made in the project work. The report of the work has to be submitted by the candidates in two different phases.

JNTUA has a specially dedicated placement cell to provide internship and career opportunities to the candidates as per the future prospective. Many renowned companies pay a visit to the cell for providing placements to the candidates. 

Some of the renowned companies are ITC Limited, Infosys, HDFC Bank, Muthoot Finance Group, Tata Gold Plus, Beam Telecom, Capital IQ, Globerena, etc. There is a procedure conducted for the candidates interested in getting jobs and placements.

Ques. Is it compulsory to appear for the entrance examination for admission into the course?

Ans. The candidates must appear for the AP ICET entrance examination to be eligible for admission into the MBA course. Also, candidates must have Mathematics as a subject in Bachelor’s or at class 10 or class 12.

Ques. Is there a Management quota offered by the JNTUA for admission into the MBA?

Ans. JNTUA does offer seats based on the Management quota in MBA. The seats are offered by the affiliated and constituent colleges of the JNTUA.

Ques. Can the candidate choose the specialization as per his/her desire?

Ans. Candidates can choose the specialization as per their interest. However, the final allotment of the seat would depend upon the seats in the particular specialization and marks of the candidates also.
