PES University, Bangalore is a private institution in India that is recognized by both UGC and AICTE. The university is also accredited by NAAC. CSE is the most sought after branch of education at the university. There are many reasons for the same, some of which are mentioned below.

• Location: Since it is in Bangalore, PES University is at the advantage of being situated at the heart of the “ Silicon Valley of India”. This is of immense help to CSE students since they can build networks with people from the industry and at the same time learn and get exposure from internships.

• Credentials: PES University offers CSE through many different credentials: B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. as well.

• Faculty: The CSE program faculty at PES University are subject-matter experts in their fields. For example, Dr. Snehanshu Saha of the CSE department won the PEACE Award-Distinguished Researcher of the Year Award in 2019.

• Fees: The programs at PES University are affordable compared to other private universities. While the B.Tech. program costs INR 3.3 Lakhs for the first year, the M.Tech. program costs INR 1.7 Lakhs.

• Exposure: The university is highly focused on Computer Science, which is why the majority of the events such as seminars and conferences that are held as activities are for the CSE department. This provides valuable experience and learning opportunities to the students.

• Departmental infrastructure: The CSE department boasts of well-equipped labs, advanced lecture halls, seminar halls, discussion rooms, etc.

• Scholarships: PES offers scholarships such as MRD scholarships, Distinction Award, etc, to students who are meritorious or belong to rural background.

• Placements: In 2019, 851 students were placed in 56 recruiting companies such as Deloitte, Amazon, LinkedIn, EY, Intel, etc. The highest and median packages offered were 48 LPA and 6.8 LPA, respectively. Microsoft was the top recruiter.

PES University is a decent option for the CSE program. However, one must choose it only after researching it, comparing it with his or her other options, and considering other factors.
