University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) offers full-time B.Tech in 33 specializations. The regular B.Tech. courses are offered in 16 specializations, and the specialized courses in collaboration with IBM and XEBIA are offered in 13 and 3 specializations respectively.

UPES Dehradun B.Tech Eligibility Criteria:

• The minimum eligibility to apply is 50% marks in class 10 and 10+2 along with 50% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects at 10+2 level.
• For admission through the Non-examination pathway, candidates must have 50% marks in 10+2 as well as in PCM subjects for board merit and 50% marks in 10+2 and PCM subjects for JEE Main merit.
• The merit of JEE Main will be declared on the website of UPES after the declaration of JEE Main Result. As per the result of JEE Main centralized counselling will be conducted through Merit Ranking. 

UPES Dehradun B.Tech Selection Criteria:

• UPES admission is based on UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) through the examination pathway and also based on JEE Main/10+2 merit through the Non-examination pathway.
• Admission Eligibility based on JEE Main Merit: Minimum 50% marks in class 10th and 12th and minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM at 10+2 level.
• Admission Eligibility based on Board Merit: Minimum 80% marks in class 10th and 12th and minimum 80% aggregate marks in PCM at 10+2 level.

UPES offers a two-year M.Tech course in 12 different specializations. The minimum eligibility to apply is a BE/B.Tech degree from a recognized university.

UPES admission to M.Tech. is done based on screening of the candidate's application, followed by an interview.

Key Points:

• Candidates appearing in their final year examinations are also eligible for UPES admission by providing proof of eligibility.
• Candidates with a compartment in any of their subjects are not eligible for UPES admission.
• Candidates who don’t pass their semester on the first attempt and are not punctual academically, will not be provided with any fellowship.

The university offers 2-Years M.Sc at PG level and B.Sc and B.Sc (Hons) at UG level for a duration of 3-years. The minimum requirement for a PG program is 50% marks in B.Sc and 50% marks in 10th & 12th (PCMB). The eligibility for UG programs is 50% marks in class 10th & 12th and 50% marks in PCM / PCB.

Eligible students need to fill the application form after which screening will be done and they will be called for the Interview round. Those who perform well in the interview are granted admission.

Selection Criteria for B.Sc course is a Personal Interview.

UPES Dehradun offers 3-years B.Com, B.Com (Hons) and B.Com (Hons) in Banking, Insurance & Management. Students who are seeking admission in it must have obtained 50% marks in 10+2. Admission to the course is based on the performance in the Interview round.

UPES offers BA LL.B, B.Com LL.B, BBA LL.B and LL.M under the School of Law. The duration of LLB programs are 5-years while the duration of LL.M is 2 -years. Students can secure admission in LLB programs based on the ULSAT exam conducted by the institute and admission to LL.M is based on the ULSAT-LL.M exam.

BA LL.B, B.Com LL.B, BBA LL.B Eligibility Criteria is Minimum of 50% Marks in Class 10th & 12th. The Specializations are as follows:

LL.M Specializations, Eligibility & Selection Criteria are as follows:  

For LL.B Courses: Candidates who have merit in CLAT / L-SAT or Board are exempted from ULSAT. Such candidates are directly called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

Admission based on CLAT / L-SAT India Merit: 50% marks in class 10th and 12th and CLAT AIR up to 15000 or 60 percentile in L-SAT India.

Admission based on Board Merit: 80% marks in class 10th and 12th with English as one of the compulsory subjects

UPES offers M.Des and B.Des under the School of Design Studies (SoDS) for 2 years and 4 years respectively. Admission to both the courses is done based on a valid UPES Design Aptitude Test (UPES – DAT) score followed by a Personal Interview and Portfolio presentation.

M.Des Specializations & Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

Specializations & Selection Criteria for B.Des Program are as follows: Minimum Eligibility Criteria of B.Des is 50% Marks in Class 10th & 12th.  

Integrated M.Des & B.Des Specializations & Eligibility Criteria are as follows:  

Key Points:

• For M.Des., candidates with a valid score in CEED are exempted from UPES-DAT.
• For B.Des., candidates with a valid score in Board/JEE/NIFT/NID and UCEED are exempted from the entrance test.
• Such candidates will be called for Portfolio Presentation and an Interview directly.
• The university will announce the date of the Presentation and Interview post UPES-DAT result.

UPES Dehradun offers BA, BA (Hons), BA Journalism & Mass Communication and BA Digital & Mass Media and MA Journalism & Mass Communication and MA Digital & Mass Media under the School of Modern Media. BA is also offered in UPES Dehradun under School of Business

BA program in School of Business:

BA Program in the School of Modern Media comes under different Specializations. The minimum Eligibility Criteria for the program is a Minimum of 50% Marks in Class 10th & 12th. The final Selection will be based on a Personal Interview conducted by the Institute.

MA Specializations, Eligibility & Selection Criteria are as follows:

UPES Dehradun offers BBA under different specializations. Candidates who have passed 10th and 12th standards with 50% marks are eligible for the course. Candidates are required to appear for the UPESMET-UG entrance examination for admission to the BBA program.

Selection to the BBA Program is based on UPESMET-UG Entrance Examination or Admissions through National Level Tests.

UPES offers an MBA program in 11 specializations for two years. Candidates have to qualify for UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET) to secure admission to this course. However, UPES also offers admission through Non-Examination Pathway, i.e, based on score in any National Level entrance examination such as CAT / MAT / CMAT / NMAT or XAT.

The final selection will depend on the score in the Entrance Exam followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

UPES Dehradun MBA Eligibility Criteria: The basic eligibility for admission to the MBA program is a minimum of 50% marks in class 10th, 12th and Graduation from a recognized University.

UPES Dehradun MBA Selection Criteria: Admission to MBA will be granted based on the UPESMET entrance exam (conducted by UPES) or Any National Entrance exam. Based on a valid score in any of the above-mentioned Entrance tests candidates will be called for Group discussion and Personal Interview.

UPES Dehradun offers PhD courses through full-time and part-time modes in several specializations. The minimum eligibility to apply is a Master’s degree with 55% marks in the relevant field. Relaxation of 5% will be given to SC / ST / OBC Candidates.

UPES admission to PhD is done based on Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by UPES, followed by a Personal Interview. During the interview, candidates will be expected to discuss their research interests. Candidates can complete the entire program in a Minimum of 3 Years & Maximum of 6 Years.
