Latest Update: Shiv Nadar University, Noida – School of Engineering and School of Natural Sciences is inviting applications for admission to its PhD program for the spring semester 2024. Interested candidates can apply for admission by submitting their applications till December 03, 2023.

Admissions to the SHIV Nadar University PhD program are offered on the basis of the written Test and department-based interview. CSIR-UGC/ NET-JRF or GATE-qualified candidates are also eligible. Such candidates do not need to appear in the Written Test conducted by the university.

The PhD course has specialization in different subjects in the field of Humanities and Social Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences and Management, and Entrepreneurship. The program is available for 15 subjects namely Economics, English, History, Sociology International Relations, and Governance Studies, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences / Bioinformatics, and Management. A part-time PhD course is available for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

Shiv Nadar University PhD Admission Guidelines

The selection of the candidates takes place in four stages after the submission of the application documents.

Stage 1: It involves the screening of the received applications from the candidates. The applications are checked for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity. The main aim of screening is to ensure that the applicant has met the minimum eligibility criteria for applying and that an application is complete in all respects. Incomplete applications are rejected at this stage.

Stage 2: The list of the shortlisted candidates is produced.

Stage 3: The shortlisted candidates are invited to take a written exam and appear before the Departmental Committee for an interview. The written exam carries 70 per cent and 30 per cent is for the interview.

Stage 4: The final step involves the evaluation of the written exam and interview performance, creation of a merit list. After the preparation of the merit list, the results are declared.

• Fill in all the mandatory fields of the admission form.
• Pay the application fee of INR 1,200.
• After online submission, the completed form has to be sent via mail again to the University along with a Reference Letter in support of your application. You can even Speed Post the completed form to the university.;

The PhD programs at Shiv Nadar University provide specialization in 15 subjects in 4 categories:

The PhD program is for four years. This span of 4 years has a total of eight semesters.

• Doctoral candidates spend the first two semesters on coursework.
