Eligibility Criteria

A candidate for the degree of Ph.D. must hold a master’s degree or an equivalent degree in a relevant subject duly recognized by this university.
General/OBC candidates with at least 55% marks and SC/ST, Physically Handicapped candidates with at least 50% marks in the master’s degree examination (qualifying examination), shall be eligible for the registration of Ph.D degree.
Registration to Ph.D. programme shall be made through a Research Eligibility Test (RET) to be conducted by the University. Gen/OBC candidates securing at least 60% marks and SC/ST candidates scoring at least 55% marks in RET shall be eligible to apply for registration in the Ph.D. program. Qualifying RET shall not confer any right to the candidate for registration to Ph.D. course. The candidate who once qualifies RET shall remain eligible for registration to Ph.D. programme only upto a period of five years.
The candidates who have qualified UGC NET/ CSIR(JRF) Examination/ SLET/ GATE/ Teacher fellowship holder shall be exempted from the RET for a period of five years, from the year of qualifying.
The candidates who have obtained M. Phil Degree from Ch. Charan Singh University through an Entrance test will also be exempted from the RET for a period of five years, from the year of passing the course..
The candidates of Foreign Nationality will be allowed for the registration in Ph.D. programme directly if sponsored by appropriate authority.
