MA Home Science or Master of Arts in Home Science is a postgraduate degree program with home science as its specialization. The duration for the course is of two years and these two years are divided into four semesters. Basic eligibility for admission in this course is graduation in home science.

It is a widely popular course which is offered by many universities and colleges all over the country. The career prospects after successful completion of the course are very wide in scope as there are many sectors where one can look for jobs.

What is MA Home Science about?

The course is about many fields of studies combined and cumulated under one umbrella course which develops the overall thinking process and mindset of a person making them understand critically the everyday basic realities in a more detailed and systematic way.

The course brings in fields of knowledge from sectors like textile and apparel design, nutrition and also more general concepts like life span development. There are also managerial courses under this course for example therapeutic management and community nutrition and resource management.

Aspirant seeking admission to 2 Years Full-Time MA Program must have passed Graduation with min. 50% marks in a relevant stream from a recognized university.

Admission is based on post graduate entrance exam (PET) conduct by Banaras Hindu University.
