The course is structured with semester-wise exams. First-year lectures are held in air-conditioned halls shared by students from eight departments. From the second year, classes move to hospital rooms, featuring an average of two theory classes, two practicals, and two internal subjects. Practical sessions are rigorous, with doctors expecting a high level of knowledge. Faculty relationships were strained in the second year but improved by the third year. Placement opportunities are limited, with seniors reporting only one placement chance, and engineering courses having better prospects.
After the third year, a one-year internship is mandatory, during which some companies might offer placements. Job opportunities in this field seem limited, with potentially better options abroad. NRI students initially pay tuition fees of 3 lakhs per annum, reduced to 1.45 lakhs with a 50% scholarship. Normal category students pay 1.2 lakhs per annum. Hostel fees for NRI and engineering students are 1.5 lakhs per annum for non-AC rooms and 2.75 lakhs for AC rooms, with two-sharing and attached bathrooms.
Other hostels charge 90,000 per annum, offering three-sharing rooms with shared bathrooms per floor. The hostel environment is described as safe and secure, with strict rules.
