The university released online application forms for the academic year 2020-21 on June 29, 2020. The university has also released a notice for direct admissions to UG courses against the vacant seats, starting from October 28, 2020. The last date for submission of the application form along with necessary documents and fees is November 4, 2020. Also, Kota University will release its final merit list for UG admissions on November 5, 2020. The university has also released the revised schedule for semester examinations.

Kota University offers Ph.D. courses to eligible candidates in both full time and part-time models in 26 specializations across various streams such as Science, Law, Humanities, Computer Science & Informatics, etc.
- The course is provided under 6 different departments, namely, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law.
- The full-time Ph.D. course provided by the university is spread across a minimum duration of 3 years. However, the maximum full-time course duration is 6 years.
- Ph.D. course in part-time mode is provided for a minimum duration of years and a maximum duration of 7 years.
- Basic eligibility for admissions to Ph.D. courses is that the candidates must have a valid master’s degree from a recognized university.
- Admissions to Ph.D. courses at Kota University are based on academic merit.
- Candidates are also required to appear for a written test followed by an interview conducted by the institute itself.
- A relaxation of 5 % in academic merit is given to candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and Physically Handicapped candidates.
- Candidates who have qualified UGC/ CSIR NET are exempted from the written test conducted by the university.

Kota University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria set by the university for admissions to the Ph.D. course is as follows:
- Candidates must have a master's degree with at least 55% in aggregate from a recognized university in a relevant discipline.
- SC/ ST/ OBC and Physically Handicapped candidates are required to have a master’s degree with at least 50% in aggregate from a recognized university, i.e, a relaxation of 5% is provided to them.
- Candidates must score 50% marks in the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the university.
Kota University Ph.D. Admission Guidelines
Admissions to the Ph.D. course at Kota University are based on the academic performance of the candidates in previous qualifying examinations. However, the candidates are also required to appear for the entrance test and obtain a valid score.
- Below mentioned are the steps to be followed for the Ph.D. application process:
- Visit the official website of Kota University.
- Click on ‘Online Admissions 2020’ on the Homepage. A new window will appear.
- Fill in the required details such as applicant’s name, parentage, DOB, etc, and then click on ‘Next’. Candidates will then be redirected to the application form.
- Fill out all the academic and personal details correctly in the application form.
- Upload the required documents.
- Proceed to pay the application fee of INR 500 through credit/ debit or net banking.
- Submit the application form and take a print out of the same for future reference.
- Candidates found eligible will have to appear for the entrance test followed by an interview.
- Candidates who have qualified for an examination conducted by professional bodies and approved by AICTE are also eligible for the entrance test.
- A second test will also be conducted if the seats remain vacant.
- Candidates who have already qualified UGC/ CSIR NET (JEF)/ SET/ GATE or any other equivalent entrance exam will be exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the university.
- Candidates who qualify for the entrance test and candidates exempted from the entrance test will be called for an interview.

- Candidates after being submitted to a Ph.D. program are required to undertake course work for a period of one-semester minimum.
- Candidates are also required to submit a synopsis within three months from the date of the interview.
- The maximum extension for the submission of a thesis will be 5 years. In case the candidate fails to submit a thesis in five years' duration, he/ she will have to re-register and submit a thesis within 2 years after which there will be no extension in the deadline.
- The internal evaluation consists of seminar presentations/ tests and the candidates will be required to score at least 55% marks or equivalent grade point to pass the course work.
