Ph.D. Electronics and Communications Engineering From LPU, Jalandhar

Eligibility For Indian Applicants:

• Pass with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grades prescribed by UGC in the master's degree* (2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree Programme#) or equivalent in the relevant subject + LPUNEST + Interview
• Candidate who has completed 1-year/2-semester master's degree* programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree is also eligible provided the candidate should have a minimum of 75% marks in 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
• in M.Tech./M.E./MS ( with CSE/ IT/ Computer Engineering/ Software Engineering/ Networking and Security/ Information Systems/ Data Science and Analytics/ Cyber Security and Forensics/ Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning/ Computing Systems and Infrastructure/ Software Systems/ Cloud Computing ) or equivalent.

Eligibility for International Applicants:

(All Applicants shall fulfill the English Language Requirement (ELR)
a) English as a subject in 10th or higher qualification OR
b) Qualfying Exam in English Medium (need proof from student)
OR
c) IELTS / TOEFL / Cambridge English Certf.

• # Candidate who has completed 1-year/2-semester master's degree* programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree is also eligible provided the candidate should have a minimum of 75% marks in 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed

Note:- For Part Time programme candidate must have minimum 2 years of teaching/ industry experience at the time of submitting application.

• * in M.Tech./M.E./MS (with Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering/ Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/ Wireless Communication/ Communication Systems/ VLSI Design/ Embedded Systems/ Robotics & Automation) or equivalent.

Other Conditions/Requirement for Ph.D:

Admission in a particular discipline will be available subject to availability of seats with the advisor from the University
For Indian Applicants
Exemption from Entrance Test
Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/SPM/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE or GPAT score card/ ICAR (NET), Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. Programme (in Regular mode only) are exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.).

Note:

1.) Exemption is for LPUNEST (Ph.D.) only but the applicant will have to fill the LPUNEST (Ph.D.) form and appear for the Interview. The applicants are required to bring the original documents against which exemption is sought at the time of interview.
2.) GATE/GPAT score should be valid at the time of admission.
3.) The final selection for admission in Ph.D. will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the Interview. However, if anyone is exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D.) entrance test, then 100% weightage will be given to Interview only.
4. For Ph.D Management / Commerce:- Company Secretary qualification of the ICSI is allowed
5. For Ph.D Commerce:- Chartered Accountancy (CA) from 'The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India' (ICAI) is allowed.
6. For Ph.D Management:- PGDBM (2 Years), which is equivalent to Master Degree by AIU is allowed.

1.) 20% Scholarship is for all female candidates & LPU alumni who are not getting any other scholarship.
