The total fees for LPU M.Tech Food Technology in 2024 is ₹ 3.2 Lakhs for the complete course duration, which includes total tuition fees of ₹ 3.2 Lakhs. Earlier, the fees in 2021 - 2022 for M.Tech Food Technology was ₹ 4.8 Lakhs.
LPU Hostel Fee for Male is ₹ 60,000 to 2.1 Lakhs. Hostel Fee for Female at LPU is ₹ 75,000 to 2.1 Lakhs.

LPU M.Tech (Food technology) admissions are currently ongoing.The university takes an entrance test, named LPUNEST for its M.Tech admission as well as getting a scholarship. The last date to apply for the LPUNEST is July 15, 2021. Candidates can take the test from home and will be monitored through AI tools and invigilators. LPUNEST 2022 will be held from June 6 - July 20. The result is declared within 24 hours after submitting the exam. Minimum 60% marks in total in B.A or B.Tech with the specialization of Food Science and Technology/ Food Engineering or Dairy Technology/ Agricultural and Food Engineering/ Biotechnology is required. M.Sc pass in the above mentioned specialisations can also appear in LPUNEST.

Food Technology is such a course that has global demand. So, an M.Tech degree in this specialization is definitely an excellent career choice. For the admission in this course students have to maintain certain criteria. These are mentioned below -
- 60% total marks in B.E. or B.Tech in Food Science and Technology or Dairy Technology or Agricultural and Food Engineering or Biotechnology is needed.
- M.Sc pass in Food Science and Technology or Dairy Technology or Food and Nutrition can also apply.
- LPUNEST or GATE is mandatory as an entrance exam.
- 5% relaxation is given to North - East states specially Sikkim/Defence Personnel and their dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants.
- Selection Criteria is made on the basis of the merit of the qualifying exam.

How to Apply for LPU M.Tech Food Technology?
Application Process:
The students have to register their basic details on LPU ADMIT. Then, they will get mail with an email ID. They have to login with the ID to the admission portal. Then they have to deposit the test fee for the cost of the Application form and its copy of the LPUNEST kit. The fee for the soft copy is INR 1000 (Boys) and 500 (Girls). For print copy it is INR 1500 (Boys) and 1000 (Girls).
Documents Required:
After filling the application form they have to book the time slots to appear in the exam. When they submit the form, the following documents such as - recent photographs, 10th marksheet, qualifying exam certificate, address proof etc should be attached to the form as it is required at the time of admission.

LPU M.Tech Food Technology Course Details
LPU M.Tech program consists of both theory and practical methods in each semester. Some of the informations about the course are given below -
- Written exam of this course basically deals with both short and descriptive types of questions.
- The exams (Practical and Written) are mainly of 3hours and the 4th semester's exam is only project based.
- Minimum 40% marks is required in each individual subject in each semester. Students who pursue integrated M.Tech courses can avail the benefits of scholarships for five years.
- The M.Tech course has a diverse syllabus that makes the students experts in their fields.
- It is a Full time residential course with a duration of 2 years.
- Attendance Requirements - 75% attendance in total and 65% in individual specializations is mandatory.
- Elective Courses - Advances in Cereals and Pulses Technology, Advances in Dairy Engineering and Technology, Advances in Fruits and Vegetables Technology, Enzymes in Food Processing, Food Toxicology, Grain Storage Technology, Nutraceuticals and Health foods, Product Design and Development, Technology of meat and fish processing.

LPU M.Tech Food Technology Scholarship
LPUNEST Category 1, Category 2, Category 3 pass students will get 60%, 50%, 40% waiver of program fee respectively for each semester.
- 90% total in graduation or post graduation and 95% total in 12th result get INR 72000 per semester. They have to pay INR 48000 for each semester.
- 80-89.99% marks in graduation or post graduation and 90-94.99% marks in 12th is called category 2. They will get INR 60,000 per semester as scholarship fee.
- 70-79.99% marks holder in graduation or post graduation and 80- 89% marks in 12th is under category 3 section and will be provided with INR 48000 per semester as scholarship.
