Central University of Punjab (CUP) is a government university in Bhatinda. Established in 2009, CUP is recognised by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by the NAAC. The university is also ranked 100 among top universities in India. Central University of Punjab offers research-oriented Master's and PhD programs in the areas of Sciences, Technology, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences.
The university is multi-cultural and multi-lingual as it has students from 28 States, 07 UTs and International students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burundi, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Kenya, Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, faculty members and non-teaching staff from most of the States.

Admissions at Central University of Punjab are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university accepts Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) scores for admission to all PG courses. However, admission to M.Pharm and M.Tech courses are also offered based on GPAT and GATE scores, respectively. The final selection is done through a counselling process conducted by the university. Candidates must note that admission to 50% of seats in the M.Tech program is filled through CCMT counselling and the remaining are filled though CUET PG.
The demand ratio for admission to PG seats at the Central University of Punjab is 1:187. For Diploma / Certificate programs, the demand ratio is 1:660. The university has established a health care center that has facilities like OPD, an in-house facility covering basic medicine and first-aid, ambulance, on-call medical officer and support staff, and health advisors are issued from time to time. The University has 2 Girls’ hostels and 2 Boys’ hostels with facilities like Wi-Fi, beds, mattresses, study table, a chair, an almirah, 24x7 water and electricity supply, a housekeeping facility, hygienic food, and a common Room with a TV facility. The library is ergonomically designed with elegant modern furniture and is well equipped with over 36,606 titles and subscribes to 71 journals, and 9507 full-text E-journals and has access to various digital libraries, and educational societies. The library is fully airconditioned and has Wi-Fi connectivity to provide the option to work with both online and offline resources. Well-equipped fully airconditioned gyms are provided for all students for their health needs and fitness. A bus facility is provided for staff and students for commuting. It would be interesting to know that the university has a museum that houses a vast collection of historical and archaeological exhibits. The university has walking trails around the campus. Other facilities include a Badminton court, Table Tennis court, Outdoor Volleyball, running track, football ground, cricket ground and basketball court. The University is encouraging the students to earn while learning by taking up part-time jobs at the University itself.

Ans. The School of language, literature, and culture at Central University of Punjab offers MA with different language specializations such as MA English, MA Hindi, and MA Punjabi. The eligibility to apply for this course is a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD} in aggregate with at least 50% marks {45% in case of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD} in English/Hindi/Punjabi respectively from a recognized Indian or foreign University.

Through the Travel Grant Scheme, teachers, scholars, and officers shall be permitted to avail of this financial assistance scheme once a year. TA/DA as per university rules and registration fee, subject to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- shall be paid to the eligible teachers, scholars, and officers under this scheme.
