Duration of Course

The duration of the M.Sc. Nursing course is 2 years. The examination will be held over 2 weeks. The vacation will extend for a period of 4 weeks. 

Course Schedule

  • The practical examinations will be held at the clinical area for specialties
  • An internal, as well as an external invigilator, will be present during the practical examination
  • The dissertation should be evaluated before the viva is conducted
  • The vice voice will be for a time duration of 30 minutes
  • The research proposal should be submitted at the end of the 9th month of the first year. The final dissertation will be submitted at the end of the 9th month of the second year.

End Term Evaluation

  • The candidate should secure a minimum of 50% marks, separately in practicals and theory to pass. If the students fail in either practical or theory the student will have to re-appear for both practical and theory
  • To attain second division students should attain 50%-59% marks
  • To attain first division students should attain 60%-74% marks
  • To attain distinction the student should attain more than 75% marks,
  • The rank aggregate will be ascertained after considering both the years' marks.

Attendance Requirement

  • The student should attain 75% marks in both theory and practicals to be eligible for the examination. However, to be awarded a degree the student should have 100% attendance.

Program Structure

  • The practical examination will be held for 4 hours. The maximum number of students is 10 for each specialty.
  • The dissertation carries 100 marks each for practicals and theory
  • The administrative approval and clinical clearance should be obtained before the viva is conducted.
