Yes students do fail in final exams and for that they have to pay 6k rs and take that subject again because vit does not give an option of re attempt.
A typical academic semester for a single subject is as following -
2 CAT exams ( continuous assessment test) one of them is open book and is out of 30 marks with a weightage of 15 each
Quizzes and digital assignments- one should try getting most in these as they have a weightage of total 30 marks and are comparatively very easy to score.
FAT (Final assessment test) - This is the final exam which has a weightage of 40 marks and consists of 7 modules in every subject.
If a student fails to get 40 marks in fat they will be given a backlog in that particular subject.
Teaching methodology there is very simple. We have got 7 modules for every subject in PDF format and are taught by the faculties in depth, given practice questions in class and can mug up everything from those 7 modules.
Faculty I admired the most was Dr. Vidhyapathi. He was my Microcontrollers professor and had immense practical and theoretical knowledge about the subject. He used to explain everything with examples and used to make sure each and every student in his class understood the concept thoroughly.
Faculty I didn't admire- Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh for robotics. He didn't attend classes and used to cancel class at the end moment which was a very rare thing to happen in vit.
There is a75% attendance criteria for students with less than 9cgpa . For students with 9 cgpa and above it was not compulsory to attend classes and there was no attendance criteria for them.
Its not that tough like neutral.. maximum students passed in the exams. Some good aspects of my course are career options are there and bad aspects are its very common. 2 semester exam are there in a year. 6 classes are there in a day which is from 9am to 4pm and we get 1 hour of free time in between this time. they focused on student-centered approach. I admire one ma'am her name is Mithu she is very caring and loving the way is teach is very nice.
Yes we need to have 75% attendance or else they won't let seat in the exam.
