Course Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Biotechnology/M.Sc. Microbiology mandates candidates to pass B. Sc. with minimum 50% marks with the following:

• With Biotechnology/Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Zoology/Botany as the principal subject or Biochemistry/Microbiology/Botany/ Zoology as a subsidiary subject at B. Sc. II level for M. Sc. Biotechnology.
• Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Biotechnology as the principal subject or with Microbiology or Botany/Zoology or any Biological subject as a subsidiary subject at B. Sc. II level for M. Sc. Microbiology.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Microbiology mandates candidates to pass B. Sc. with minimum 50% marks with:

• Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Chemistry as principal subject
• Microbiology Botany/Zoology or any Biological subject as a subsidiary subject at B. Sc. II levels for M. Sc. Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

KIMS Karad Ph.D. Admission are conducted through AIPHDCET Entrance Exam. Checkout the following section for more details:

Eligibility

1. Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
2. Provided that the relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade shall be allowed for SC/ST/VJ-NT(Non-creamy layer)/OBC(Non- creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC.
3. All the candidates for the Ph. D. programme shall be selected on the basis of an All India Ph. D. CET and an Interview process administered by the University.
4. An interview/viva-voce shall be organized for those who have qualified in the All India Ph. D. CET.
   1. In the interview, the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Committee.
   2. The interview/viva voce shall also consider the following aspects
      1. The competence for the proposed research.
      2. The research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institute.
      3. The proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.
5. The candidates register to Ph. D. Programme on the basis of their academic records, the performance of the candidate in the All India Ph. D. CET, and interview.

Pattern of Entrance

The entrance test (MCQs of one mark each) shall be conducted by the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, Karad, as per the notification issued by the University.

• The medium of language for the All India Ph. D. CET shall be English.
• The entrance test shall have 50 MCQs of Research Methodology & 50 MCQs of subject Specific (as mentioned in the application form)
• The syllabus of the subject specific at the PG level applies to the Entrance Test

KIMS Karad Fellowship Programmes Admission 2023

Fellowship Programmes in the Faculty of Medicine:

Candidates who desire to take admission must apply in the prescribed application form which will be made available from August 22^nd  (tentative) onwards.  Online Application form can be obtained from the official website. Hard copy of the online application is required to be send to the:

KIMSU office, Competent Authority,

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) University,

Karad, Dist. Satara (Maharashtra), PIN- 415 110.

Application form is also available at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University office, Karad. Fees for the application form is INR 5000. Candidates are required to produce following documents at the counseling:

1. For Proof of date of birth: SSC Certificate or School/College Leaving Certificate.

2. Statement of marks of 10^th and 12^th examination.

3. NEET UG 2016 Exam Admit Card and Result.

4. Leaving/Transfer Certificate.

 5. Migration Certificate and Conduct and Character Certificate from a responsible person.

6. Gap Certificate (wherever applicable).

7. Certificate of Medical Fitness.

8. Caste validity Certificate (if applicable).

9. Six recent passport size photographs with your names written on backside.

For Super Specialty Courses: Application form can be downloaded from the official website and submitted along with a DD of INR 3000/-. Application form can be obtained from University office or by post / Courier by sending a DD of INR 1100 /- (All DD should be drawn, in favor of “Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University (KIMS)” payable at Karad)

Duly filled application should be submitted at the University Office in person or by registered post. The candidates must produce all required original certificates at the time of Counseling and at the time of admission. A set of attested photocopy of each of the document should be submitted, as per the list given below.

For PhD and Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Application form for Ph.D & Post-Doctoral Fellowship can be downloaded from the official website and submitted along with the D.D. of INR 1500 /- in favor of KIMS University, Payable at Karad. For Ph.D, candidate has to attach brief synopsis of the research work along with the application form.
