DBATU PhD Admission 2023 is going to begin soon. The University conducts admission process to its Ph.D. program twice in a year, that is, for the January and the July session. Admission to the program is based on the University Entrance exam score followed by an Interview. The University offers both full-time and part-time PhD programs in the disciplines of engineering, Science and Humanities. In total there are 42 seats for PhD candidates in various departments at the university including both full time and part time programs. Ph.D is a research degree offered to students who have successfully completed their post-graduation. It is a course which allows a student to study a subject more profusely and pursue research in the same. DBATU offers research program in engineering and science subjects. The admission fee for research degree programs for both Full time and Part time research candidates is 37,310 INR. If selected, you have to pay the admission fee online only, through SBI-Collect only. The details of fee payment are available on the official website for university.

DBATU Ph.D Eligibility Criteria 2023

If you wish to apply for Ph.D. program in one of the engineering disciplines, i.e., chemical engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication engineering, Electrical engineering, and Civil engineering, you must have an M.E. or M.Tech. Degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or institute. You must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in your post-graduation program.

DBATU Ph.D Selection Process 2023

If you fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned above, you can apply for admission to Ph.D. program at DBATU. The selection for admission to Ph.D. programs is through an entrance test and personal interview. Every candidate who wishes to get admission in the PhD program has to compulsorily appear for the entrance test.

On the basis of entrance examination merit list will be made and selection will be done. 

  • The entrance exam will consist of two papers – General Aptitude and Subject Specific Test.
  • General Aptitude paper will be of 1 ½ hours duration.
  • General Aptitude paper will comprise of three sections – Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.
  • General Aptitude paper will have 40 Multiple Choice Questions, where each question will carry 2 marks.
  • General Aptitude paper will also have 2 General Descriptive Question of 10 marks each.
  • General candidates who score 50% marks and candidates belonging to reserved categories who score 45% marks in General Aptitude paper will be considered qualified.
  • The Subject Specific Test will be of 1 ½ hours duration.
  • The Subject Specific Test will have 25 multiple choice questions and will carry 2 marks each.
  • The Subject Specific Test will also have 10 descriptive questions of 5 marks each.
  • The Answer books of Candidates who qualify General Aptitude paper will only be checked for the Subject Specific Test.
  • Qualified candidates will have to appear for an interview in the respective departments at the university.
  • The interview will carry 25 marks.
  • Candidates who have qualified GATE/NET/SET/JRF exam in the relevant discipline and have a valid score are exempted from appearing in Subject Specific Test.
  • Candidates who have completed M.Phil. degree in a relevant discipline are also exempted from Subject Specific Test.
  • Exempted candidates will have to appear only for the General Aptitude test and Personal Interview.

Seat Allocation:

  • There will be a separate list for GATE and non-GATE candidates.
  • In the first round of seat allocation, admission will be offered to GATE qualified candidates who have a valid score and have qualified the entrance exam conducted by DBATU.
  • The vacant seats remaining after first round of seat allocation, will be offered to the non-GATE candidates based on merit in the entrance exam and personal interview.

Step 2: Log in using your username (your Registration No.) e.g. 20110119 and password (default password is same as your username).

Step 3: Click on the link Student Registration.

Step 4: Fill up all the information asked for and save changes.

Step5: Using the upload Photo link, upload your photo following the instructions given on this page. Please note that this photograph will be used by the University for your admit card (Hall Ticket) for the End Semester Examination and will be maintained in your permanent record for any further use.
