NIT Calicut Scholarship

NIT Calicut offers an array of scholarships for its students enrolled among the different programs offered by the institute. Each scholarship of NIT Calicut has its own eligibility criteria and each individual is awarded only one scholarship among all only after he/she satisfies the minimum requirements. Also, the students are required to renew their scholarship each semester/year without having any backlogs. Some of the most popular scholarships offered at NIT Calicut are mentioned below. 

Merit Cum Means Scholarship:

  • The Merit Cum Means (MCM) Scholarship is awarded to the needy and meritorious students belonging from the minorities. 
  • In order to be eligible for MCM Scholarship, candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in their last qualifying examinations.
  • Also, the students should have an annual family income of not more than INR 2,50,000 from all the sources.
  • Students are awarded INR 25,000 per annum (INR 30,000 per annum for hostler) as the scholarship awards.

E-Grantz:

  • E-Grantz is a web-based solution for the timely disbursement of educational assistance for all the post-matric students belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories in Kerala. 
  • The E-Grantz are only available for the students whose parents are permanent residents of Kerala with an annual family income of less than INR 6 lakhs.
  • A student should have maintained a minimum of 75% attendance to get E-Grantz benefits. 
  • The benefits or E-Grantz at NIT Calicut includes:
    • Reimbursement of all fees except caution deposit
    • Mess fees up to INR 3500 per month
    • Laptop computer at the beginning of the course
    • Pocket money INR 250 per month for hostellers and INR 750 per month for day scholars.

Central Sector –Top Class For SC/ST Students:

  • The Central Sector Top Class Scholarship Scheme is specially designated to the students of SC/ST categories to promote quality education among them.
  • Any student of the SC/ST category from any part of the country having an annual family income of less than INR 4,50,000 can avail of the facility of Central Sector Top Class Scholarship Schemes.
  • The scholarship is completely merit-based and the previous academic performance of a student will be considered for renewal of the scholarship award.
  • A full tuition fee waiver is offered to the student under this scholarship scheme along with some other benefits such as:
    • Hostel expenses with a limitation of INR 2200 per month
    • Laptop/ Computer worth INR 45,000 at the beginning of the course
    • INR 3000 for Books and stationery expenses. 

Apart from the above-mentioned scholarships, students of NIT Calicut can also apply for several other scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and Education Loan provided by different banks to lessen the financial burden of students by providing easy EMI options. Ans. NIT Calicut has renewal criteria for each scholarship offered by the institute such as a minimum CGPA in the last semester, annual family income, etc. Students are required to meet the basic requirements for the renewal of scholarships. 

Ques. Are education loans available at NIT Calicut?

Ans. Yes, NIT Calicut offers education loans for students who are unable to get scholarships. The education loan is offered by SBI on the basis of the family earning which allows the students to pay the entire tuition fee in easy installments.

When a fresher joins the college into B.E/B.tech the fees are as follows : At the time of admission Rs.47000 - extra charges (for the whole course) Rs.62500 - semester charges - For General fee waivers will applied on the produced income certificate issued by the respective State government. For all sc, St students it will be a waiver, however. For SC, St category students NSP scholarship will be provided in amounts ranging from 40000-130000 based on the college. For others, private merit scholarships can be availed.

We have our fee structure according to our reservations. so we have hostel fees mess fees library fees and some other things. According to my reservation, I have to pay a fee of about 1,10,000 rupees to the college per year. we also have many scholarship opportunities and college will give us some financial assistance for our medical issues and financial status. We have many companies which have huge interests in our college.

NITC is one of the expensive all NITs. If you get any other NIT better than this then take it. Compared to private it is way better but in contrast to governments its costly. Also i am general (wish i wasn't) and above 8 lakh family income so i get no benifits whatsoever. But if you are super intelligent and can be on top of your batch with high CGPA as 9+ then you can get one type of scholarship irrespective of your social status. If you are from SC,St,OBC feeses will be less as u already know. They are many scholarships available like E-GRANTZ, SILA and many targeted for different students with low income or girls too.

We have our fee structure according to our reservations. We have a hostel fee and mess fee and Library fee and some other things. According to my reservation, I have to pay about 150000 per year. We also have many scholarship opportunities and college will give us some financial assistance for our medical issues and financial status. Campus jobs are like many members are getting very high paid jobs. On our campus, many companies are coming.

Annual fee will be 154000 which varies according to the categories. You can get scholarship NSP for (sc, st) and FFE for (obc,ews) can even get education loans easily for internships you can get a stipend.

Their fee structure was based on your category and the annual income of your parents but actually, general students need to pay around 75k per sem. The scholarship will be like NSP and FFE and there will be some bank scholarships, bank loans will also be considered and bank loans are helpful for your education

The fee structure is high for general candidates and for OBC candidates who have a family income of above 5 lakhs. For candidates with a family income between 1 to 5 lakhs should pay one-third of the academic fee. And for below one lakhs, there is no academic fee. The SC and ST candidates are free from paying the academic fee. U need to the hostel fee Along with the academic fee. You can get many scholarships

The fees was based on the category basically the general category students will around 70k per sem but category students will pay as per their category and if they parents income is less then one lakh they only need to pay for hostels and library. You can apply any of the scholarship from outside like NSP and FFE, you can also apply for bank scholarship and bank loans there is no jobs in campus for students and there is no jobs for students outside
