Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Kochi Admission 2023: B.Sc, M.Sc, M.Phil. Admission, Application process

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi offers B.Sc  program at UG level and MHA, M.Sc, MPH, PG Diploma and M.Phil programs in various disciplines at PG level. Candidates seeking admission in UG and PG courses must have passed 10+2 with the relevant subject group and bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects with 50% marks in aggregate respectively. However, for PG Diploma and M.Phil, the candidates are required to have obtained a Master’s degree from any recognized university.

Admission to B.Sc. and PG Diploma courses is based on the entrance test conducted by the University followed by the performance in personal interview. However, for other courses, the selection is based on the marks in the qualifying examination followed by an interview.

• Candidates must be 17 years of age and not above 23 years as on December 31 of the academic year for UG courses.
• The upper age limit for MPH is 40 years and work experience in the relevant field proves to be an added advantage.

School of Arts and Science under Kochi campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham offers various UG and PG courses along with M.Phil and Ph.D. programs. In addition to this, the school also offers integrated programs in three different subjects, viz, BCA+ MCA, B.Sc. + M.Sc. (Mathematics) and BA+ MA (English Language and Literature).

Admission to UG and Integrated courses requires 50% marks in 10+2 in any stream. However, for PG courses, candidates must possess a graduation degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. On the other hand, admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. requires a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with 60% and 65% marks respectively.

Admission to B.Sc, BBA & B.Com and integrated programs is purely merit-based while for PG courses, selection is based on the cumulative score in merit of the qualifying exam followed by an interview. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi offers Diploma in Dental Mechanics, BDS and MDS programs in different disciplines in its School of Dentistry. MDS is offered in 10 specializations. The basic criterion to take admission in Diploma, and BDS is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects while for MDS, a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and Surgery is a must.

Selection of the candidates in Diploma course is based on merit and personal interview while for BDS admission is through NEET UG. Admission to MDS is based on the score in NEET-MDS conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi offers MBBS, PG Diploma, MS and MD in various disciplines along with M.Ch and DM courses under the super-specialty domain. MBBS program requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects. Minimum eligibility for MD, MS & PG Diploma is an MBBS degree with 50% marks in aggregate.

Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of the rank score in NEET-UG for MBBS conducted by CBSE. NEET PG score is mandatory to secure admission to MD & MS while NEET SS is mandatory for DM and M.Ch programs.

• Candidates applying for MD, MS, M.Ch and DM must have completed their compulsory internship on or before July 31^st of the academic year.

Selection of eligible applicants in B. Pharm is based on merit in 10+2 and Personal Interview while an entrance test will be conducted by the university to grant admission in Pharm.D. GPAT qualified candidates are eligible to apply for M.Pharm and Pharm.D (PB) courses. based on the score of GPAT. Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences requires a valid score in CSIR NET or UGC NET.

Centre for Nanosciences offers M.Tech program in various specializations at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi. Candidates seeking admission in these courses must have obtained Master’s degree in Physics/ Chemistry/ Materials/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics/ Life-Sciences/ B.Tech/ MBBS/ BDS with 60% marks I aggregate.

Admission is completely based on a valid score in GATE or say direct admission will be offered to the GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE candidates need to appear in the personal interview round conducted by the University.

Key Points:

• Students with M.Phil degree in relevant subjects are exempted from the written exams but have to take part in counselling and interview.
• Ph.D. program is available in Both full-time and part-time modes.
• For M.Tech program, GATE qualified candidates will receive INR 12400 on a monthly basis while non-GATE candidates will be eligible for stipend of INR 5000 per month.
• Applicants who have qualified GATE/ UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET or JRF or Research fellowship are eligible to take direct admission in Ph.D. programs.

Amrita School of Business (ASB) offers MBA program in various disciplines at PG level. The basic eligibility criterion to take admission in this course is a graduate degree in any discipline with 60% marks. Selection is done on the basis of the score in GMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ GRE/ CMAT along with the performance in group discussion and personal interview.

CAT/ GMAT or GRE qualified candidates are eligible to apply for Ph.D. in Management. The university also conducts RAT to offer admission in Ph.D.

Key Points

• There is no need of CAT score for CSIR/ UGC NET or JRF qualified candidates to secure admission to Ph.D. (Management),
• The examination pattern of RAT is same as that for CAT. RAT is usually a multiple-choice type test. The duration of RAT is 90 to 120 minutes.
