University of Horticulture Sciences offers B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D. program in 9 specializations to the aspirants.
- Mode of application is both online and offline. The application process is same for each course.
- Applicants who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Board are considered eligible for admission to BSc course.
- Candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and have qualified the entrance test conducted across the Farm Universities of Karnataka are eligible for admission to M.Sc course.
- Applicants who have a Master’s degree in Horticulture or its equivalent from a recognized university are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course.

University of Horticultural Science, Bagalkot offers two-year full-time B.Sc course in 9 specializations. Candidates who have passed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent examination with Science stream from a recognized board are considered eligible for admission to BSc course.
Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their marks secured in KCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in the month of May under the Agriculturist Quota.

- KEA conducts counselling for the shortlisted candidates and admission to BSc (Horticulture) is given through the KEA counselling.
- Under the Agriculturist Quota, 25% of qualifying examination marks (PCMB) and 50% marks of the entrance test is considered while preparing the merit list for admission to BSc course by KEA.
- Agriculturist Quota is applicable for only Farm Universities.

The University of Horticulture offers two-year full-time M.Sc (Horticulture) in 9 specializations with 17 supporting courses.
Applicants who have a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Agri-Horti or its equivalent discipline with minimum 2.50/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 CGPA/OGPA or its equivalent from any recognized university are eligible for admission to MSc course.
Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of merit of qualifying examination and common entrance test (CET) conducted across the Farm Universities of Karnataka.

Important points:
- 25% of the seats are reserved under the ICAR quota for the candidates of other states. These seats are filled through All India Entrance Examination by ICAR.
- Applicants who qualify the entrance test have to attend the counselling session at the mentioned place and date.
- During the admission, 50% preference is given to the marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination and 50% preference is given to their performance in the entrance test.
- Applicants from other universities shall produce the migration certificate within two months from the date of admission.
- Admission to the NRI/ Foreign National is given through ICAR/ GOI nomination under the ICAR quota.

The University of Horticultural Science offers full-time Ph.D. program in 9 specializations.
Applicants who have completed Master’s degree in Horticulture or its equivalent specialization with the subject in which they want to complete perform their research from any recognized Horticulture/ Agriculture/ Agri-Horti/ Farm University with minimum 2.75/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 CGPA/ OGPA are eligible for admission to the Ph.D course.
Admission to the candidates is done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination and their merit in the qualifying examination.

Key points:
- Candidates are required to secure minimum 50 marks to qualify the entrance test.
- 50% weightage is provided as per the marks secured in the qualifying examination and 45% weightage is for the score obtained in the entrance test.
- Qualified candidates are called to attend the counselling session.
- 25% of the seats are reserved for the candidates of the other state under the ICAR quota and is filled through ICAR All India Entrance Examination.
- 5% weightage is given for qualifying ICAR or CSIR Fellowship Examination or for Sports/ Games/ NSS/ NCC/ Fine Arts/ Literary/ Cultural Activities or 4% weightage is for OGPA marks.
