Nitte University Admission 2023 (Open): Dates, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application process

Nitte University, Mangalore offers a 5 ½ years MBBS program with the intake of 150 students and a 5-year BDS course with compulsory internship of 1 year and capacity of 100 students.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or biotechnology, English are considered eligible to get admission to MBBS and BDS courses.

Admission to MBBS and BDS course is given on the basis of the candidate’s valid score in NEET UG.

Key Points:

• Candidates must be 17 years of age as on December 31 of the admission year.
• It is compulsory for the NRI candidates to qualify NEET UG to get admission to MBBS and BDS courses.

Niite University offers B.Sc in Nursing, B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc in Biomedical Science, B.Tech, B.Arch and BJMC courses at the UG level.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks in PCB with English are eligible to join B.Sc in Nursing. The minimum eligibility for admission to B.Sc in MIT, MLT, A & OTT, BPT, BSc (Hons) courses candidates is 10+2 with at least 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Those who have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Mathematics or Computer Science or Electronics or Biotechnology and English are eligible to join B.Pharm.

Applicants who have completed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are considered eligible to get admission to B.Arch. Aspirants who have completed 10+2 or its equivalent qualifying examination with at least 40% marks are eligible to apply for admission to BJMC.

Students are admitted to B.Arch program based on valid NATA score. Admission to the remaining courses is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination as per the norms of the university.

Nitte University offers 3-year MD and MS programs in various specializations with the collective intake of 98 students, and a 3-year MDS course with the capacity of 49 students.

Candidates who have completed MBBS course with the permanent registration of any State Medical Council are eligible to join MD/ MS program. Similarly, those who have completed BDS Degree and are registered from the State Medical Council are considered eligible to get admission to MDS course.

Admission to MD and MS courses is given on the basis of NEET PG rank through centralized counselling conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). MDS admission is granted on the basis of valid score in NEET MDS.

Nitte University offers M.Ch, MPH, MDS, M.Sc, M.Pharm, MPT, M.Sc and MJMC courses at the PG level.

Candidates who have completed MS in General Surgery are eligible for M.Ch admission. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to MPH course is a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Paramedical Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Engineering or Management, in any of these disciplines with minimum 50% marks.

Those who have completed B.Sc or Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing with at least 55% marks are considered eligible to join MSc in Nursing program. Students with BPT Degree with at least 45% marks are eligible to join MPT course. Applicants who have completed B.Pharm course with minimum 55% marks are considered eligible to join the M.Pharm program. For MJMC, candidates must have completed BJMC program with 50% marks.

Admission to M.Ch is based on the rank scored in NEET SS. Admission to the rest of the PG courses is based on the merit in the qualifying examination.

Nitte University also offers 6-year Pharm.D course, a 3-year Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) program with an internship of 1 year. The university also offers a GNM program and a 1-year Post Basic Diploma.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English are considered eligible to join Pharm.D course. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) course is candidates must have passed B.Pharm program. Those who have completed 10+2 with minimum 40% marks are eligible to join GNM course. Applicants who have completed GNM, BSc, Post Basic BSc, MSc in Nursing are eligible to join Post Basic Diploma program.

Admission to these courses is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination.

Nitte University runs Ph.D. in 6 specializations. Candidates who have passed Master’s Degree program in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks are considered eligible to join the Ph.D. program. Admission to Ph.D. is given on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test and interview rounds conducted by the university.

Key Points:

• Students who have qualified GATE, SLET, NET, JRF are given preference during the examination
• 80% weightage is given to written test, 10% to the interview round, and 10% to the Statement of Purpose.
