Jharkhand Rai University is private university in Ranchi, Jharkhand state, India. The university is located in Kamre, Ratu Road, Ranchi. It was established by the Jharkhand State Legislature under the Jharkhand Rai University Act of 2011 .JRU is a UGC recognized Jharkhand Rai University and offers a range of quality education in  various professional and academic courses in the  Department of Science and Engineering ,Commerce and Management ,Computer Science and Information Technology ,Fashion Technology ,Humanities and Social Science ,Journalism and Mass Communication ,Library and Information Science. Candidates with the relevant PG qualification can register for the above mentioned programmes. The university provides various schemes and relaxations in marks for upliftment for SC/ST/OBC etc. category candidates.

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the application form and submitting the same along the required processing fee and self-attested documents. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of the qualifying degree/ qualification of entrance test.

Eligibility:

• Candidate  should have obtained Master’s Degree or equivalent from  in the concerned or related  discipline from a university recognized by UGC/AICTE recognized body with a minimum of 55% marks
• The minimum eligibility marks for SC/ST/Cat-I and Differently-abled candidates in aggregate or equivalent grade should be 50%.
• candidates whose result is awaited can also apply for admission, however they have to submit the final result sheet at the time of admission

Admission Process

Candidates are selected for various courses on the basis of the on the basis of entrance test score and an interview. The merit list will be generated on the university website on the basis of the performance of the candidate in entrance test and interview. Cut-off marks will be announced before the publication of the merit list.

However, the applicant does not require to appear in the entrance test if he / she fulfils the following conditions:

• Candidate who has qualified U.G.C/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SLET/ GATE/ is a Teacher Fellowship holder.
• Candidate who has Passed M.Phil./M.E./Match from statutory University.
• Candidate has having 5 years regular (unconditional approval) teaching experience at U.G. /P.G. level.
• Research Scholars /Person/Senior Citizens with exceptional abilities and has passed Graduate Degree Examination with 55% marks and with 15 years’ experience after graduation in related field (subject to discretion of Vice-chancellor).

Such candidates a have only to qualify in the interview conducted by the University for Admission into Ph.D. programme. 

The Ph.D. entrance test shall be based on General Aptitude, Language, Information and Communication and the subject at master’s level.

The candidates should check the minimum eligibility criteria from the latest prospectus before applying for admission.

Faciltities:

Scholarships

The university has special has several provisions to provide scholarships to the under privileged candidates (SC/ ST /PH /OBC/ BPL etc.) who are undergoing various courses offered by the university. The university offers the following scholarships:

• Scholarships  under UDAAN scheme
• Scholarships under Aaron scheme
• DreamZ scholarship for under privileged girls
• An education or student loan is provided to the desirous candidate as a means of financial support (given by a bank or a financial institute to help a student meet the expenses needed for higher education).

Placement Cell:

Hostel

The university provides hostel facility to the desirous candidates. Hostel facility is available separately for males and females. The university provides mess, accommodation and various other recreational facilities to 4000 male and 1250   female candidates currently.

Desirous and eligible candidates can apply for hostel facility, however separate charges are to be paid for the same.

How To Apply?

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before last date .Candidate can obtain the application form either online or offline

1. Online mode: Candidate can download and obtain the application form the official website: (www.jru.edu.in).For this mode of application candidate must pay the required amount via Demand Draft of  required amount drawn in favour of ‘Jharkhand Rai University’ payable at Ranchi
2. Offline mode: Candidate may obtain the application form from the admission office Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi on payment of required amount.

After obtaining the application form, candidate must follow the following steps:

• Ensure  the eligibility criteria  and start filling up the application form manually  with black/blue ink in Capital Letters without overwriting 
• Attach the  required self-attested  documents  and paste the recent coloured passport size photograph to  the application form
• Submit the application form to the in person or by Post /Courier to the admission office of Jharkhand Rai University, Kamre, and Ratu Road, Ranchi-835222.
• Candidate must keep the Xerox of application form for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the self-attested copies of the following documents along with application form

• Passport size photographs – 3 in numbers
• Mark sheet of 10th ,12^th ,graduation and post-graduation degree
• Date of Birth Certificate
• Character Certificate
• Permanent Address Proof
• Experience certificate– if required
• U.G.C/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SLET/ GATE qualification certificate– if required
• M.Phil./M.E./M.Tech– if required
• Demand draft of required amount drawn in favour of  (in case of downloaded form)

• Application fee: Rs.1000/- (Rs.  One thousand only)
• The application fee is non-refundable
• Photocopy and Original Both are Required at the Time of Admission. Photocopy of All Required Certificate Should be Duly Self Attested.
