Kashmir University BCA Eligibility Criteria
The applicants for admission into BCA Course must have the following requirements:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 in science, arts, or commerce stream from Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education or any other recognized Board/Institution or any other equivalent Board.
- Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% for the general category and 40% for the reserved category in the last qualifying exam.
- Candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary examination (10+2 pattern) without Computer/Mathematics related subject are also eligible, but they will have to compulsorily opt Mathematics as Generic Elective in any of the first four semesters.

Admission into BCA course is based on merit CUET UG exam. The marks of the 10+2 exam shall be considered for selection. While applying for admission to Kashmir University a candidate would have to register and then fill the application form. Before applying for a course, candidates should ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements. Given below are the steps one needs to follow to apply for CUET UG exam:

- Visit the official website cuet.samarth.ac.in
- Register by providing valid information and generate the application no. and login password.
- Use the system-generated application number and password to login.
- Fill the application form by providing your personal details, educational qualification, university/ program selection, test paper details, choosing Exam Cities, and uploading the documents required.
- Once the form has been successfully submitted, pay the requisite application fee as per the number of subjects chosen and reservation category.
- Download, save and print the confirmation page of application form for future reference.

Kashmir University BCA Course Details
The three years BCA course under Kashmir University is divided into six semesters (two semesters for each year) and follows the Choice Based Credit System Scheme (CBCS). The Course has both Practical and Theory Papers.
The syllabus Format:
- Generic Elective (1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Semester) which includes: Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electronics, Economics, Education, and Physics.
- Skill Enhancement Courses (3rd and 4th Semester).
- Discipline Specific Electives (5th and 6th Semester).
- The Core Courses (All 6 Semesters).
- Skill Enhancement Courses for B.A, B.Sc at 5th and 6th Semester Level (Computer Applications and Web Technologies).
- Ability Enhancement Course
- Environmental Studies.
- English Communication Skills.
- Generic Elective (GE)(Minor- Computer Science) Core for non-computing Discipline (Programming in C/C++, Computing Mathematics, Computer Networks, Database Management System).
- Discipline Specific Elective for Non-Computing Discipline (Information Security or Programming in JAVA, Internet Technologies OR python Programming).
- Generic Elective for non-computing at 5th and 6th Semester Level for students who have not taken computing Generic Electives during the first four semesters. (Programming in C++ and Computing Mathematics).
