Central University of Gujarat (CUG) Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Merit List, Application Form, Dates
Central University of Gujarat (CUG), established by the Parliament of India through Central Universities Act (2009), considers its main objectives to be dissemination and advancement of knowledge creation & sharing. With a vision to establish itself as a center of excellence, CUG offers a spectrum of courses under its 6 schools, namely:
- Social science
- International Studies
- Language, Literature & Culture Studies
- Chemical Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Environment & Sustainable development
The university offers 2 UG courses, 18 PG courses and 12 courses at the doctoral level. The university conducts its entrance exams for admission to various courses. All the courses are offered under the Choice Based Credit system (CBCS). The selection to these programs is also based on the performance in the entrance exam.

Central University of Gujarat B.A. Admission 2023
The university offers a B.A. in German Studies and Chinese under the school of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies for a duration of three years.

Selection Process
Admission tot he above-mentioned programs will be done solely on the basis of merit secured in the 10+2 qualifying exams.
Note- The Category-wise breakup of seat reservation includes: Unreserved (50%) – 15 Seats; OBC (NCL) (27%) – 8 Seats; SC (15%) – 5 Seats; ST (7.5%) – 2 Seats; and EWS (10% up and above) – 03 Seats, and other supernumerary seats reserved as per Govt. of India Rules and Regulations and as amended from time to time.
Central University of Gujarat M.A & M.Sc Admission 2023
Central University of Gujarat (CUG) offers 12 PG courses, under its various departments for the duration of 2 years. The admission to these UG courses is done on the basis of a computer-based entrance test conducted by the university. No candidate is allowed to take admission in more than one full-time PG course at the university. The eligibility details for all the PG courses is listed below.

Selection Procedure
- Selection to the above-mentioned PG courses is based up on the entrance test conducted by the university.
- The entrance test will be held online only.
- The candidates who are pursuing the final year of the qualifying exam can also apply for the admissions.
- The university will publish the list of selected candidates at its official web portal.
Central University of Gujarat M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2023
The university offers Ph.D. & M.Phil doctoral courses in different specializations. The admission to the doctoral courses is done on the basis of a computer-based entrance test conducted by the university. The eligible candidates can apply through the application form available at the official website of the university.

Selection Procedure
- Selection to the doctoral programs is based on the performance in the computer-based entrance exam conducted by the university.
- The candidates who qualify the written entrance test will be called for the further round of interview.
- Applicants who have qualified UGC/ CSIR/ JRF need not appear for the entrance test. They will have to appear directly for the interview.
- Relaxation for 5% is given for SC/ ST students in the qualifying exam.
Central University of Gujarat Application Procedure
- The application forms along with the prospectus for all the courses are available at the official website of the university.
- The application fees will have to be paid online through credit/ debit cards or net banking.
- The application fees for the entrance test is Rs. 500/- for General candidates and the caste based concessions will be given to OBC and SC/ ST candidates.
- The candidates can apply for maximum three courses in the same application form.
- The entrance test will be conducted over 40 centers across the country.
