Eligibility for M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives

As a minimum criterion of eligibility, aspiring candidates need to meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Graduation (B. Tech/B.E.) in any of EEE, ECE, E&I, Electronics, and Instrumentation, completed from a recognized university
  • A minimum aggregate score of 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates), at the level of graduation.
  • Candidates fulfilling such criteria and awaiting their final year exam’s results are welcome to apply too.
  • In some cases, a minimum of 24 months of work experience, as some institutes prefer candidates with professional skills before pursuing advanced education in the course.

M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives: Admission Process

Admission to the course in India is made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in a relevant State, national, or institute-level written test and/or subsequent rounds of Group Discussion and Personal Interview and/or performance in a relevant qualifying examination.

  • Admission will be granted on the basis of the GATE score.
  • After the declaration of GATE results, the students can log in to the CCMT website in order to apply for the counseling process with respect to their scores.
  • Candidates have to fill the college choices from the given institutions for M.Tech programs in order of their priority.
  • Candidates are offered admission based on their GATE score, and reservation.
  • If allotted any seat, candidates need to pay Seat Acceptance fees INR 30,000/- for General candidates, and INR 10,000/- for reserved candidates.
