Established in 1987, The Indira Gandhi Krishi Viswavidyalaya is a co-educational agricultural institute which was founded through the State Legislature Act at Raipur. It is affiliated to the UGC and recognised by the ICAR. The University focuses on imparting knowledge about agriculture and allied sciences and lays emphasis on fusing technology with indigenous techniques to improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural people through various UG, PG and PhD courses.

Ans. The Indira Gandhi Krishi Viswavidyalaya does not provide any vocational, diploma or distance learning courses. However, students can apply for the ‘Chalo Gaon ki Ore’ degree programme which aims at involving students in planning, development and operation of their own farms alongside their regular coursework from the second year.
