Dr. YSR Horticultural University is a state university located in Tadepalligudem, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in the year 2007 with the motto of imparting education and training in horticulture to eligible candidates. Dr. YSR Horticultural University offers UG, PG and Ph.D courses in the field of Horticulture at various institutes affiliated to it.
B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D programmes are offered in two institutes affiliated to YSR- Horticulture College & Research Institute, Venkataramannagudem and Horticulture College & Research Institute, Anantharajupet. Apart from these two institutes, College of Horticulture also provides M.Sc and Ph.D programmes. The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of AP EAMCET/ AIEEA (for 15% seats)/ HORTICET (for 15% seats for Diploma holders). In case of admission through AP EAMCET, THE candidates have to secure minimum 25% marks in AP EAMCET while there is no minimum criteria for reserve categories.
YSRHU HORTICET Pattern: HORTICET is a two-hour entrance which consists of 200 multiple choice questions. The test will be conducted in Telugu medium.

The selection of the candidates applying for M.Sc or Ph.D programmes will be based on the entrance test. The candidates who will qualify in the entrance test will be called for counselling session i.e. Personal Interview session. Ques. Is there any reservation for Local & Non-Local candidates?
Ans. The total number of seats allowed in the joint university of Dr. YSRHU was divided by 64% (42% for SVU + 22% for SVU) and 36% OU after the state split for Dr. YSRHU and SKLTSHU, respectively. The University duly follows the provisions under Article 371D. Out of the 64% seats, 85% will be filled by local candidates in the ratio of 42:22 for AU and SVU constituencies respectively. The rest 15% of unreserved or non-local seats will be filled in the open competition.
