Dr. YSR Horticultural University Admission 2023: Courses, Fees, Eligibility, Application Form. Selection Process

YSRHU offers a full-time B.Sc (Horticulture) course in university department and its affiliated colleges.10+2 or Diploma passed candidates can apply for admission.

The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of AP EAMCET/ AIEEA (for 15% seats)/ HORTICET (for 15% seats for Diploma holders). In case of admission through AP EAMCET, THE candidates have to secure minimum 25% marks in AP EAMCET while there is no minimum criteria for reserve categories.

YSRHU HORTICET Pattern: HORTICET is a two-hour entrance which consists of 200 multiple choice questions. The test will be conducted in Telugu medium.

Key Points:

• The candidates are required to pay INR 350 to register for AP EAMCET via AP online or Debit/Credit card.
• 300 and 240 seats under General Category available in the university and affiliated colleges respectively are filled on the basis of ranks in AP EAMCET. Payment seats (13), available only in the university are filled on the basis of AP EAMCET ranks.
• 15% of the total seats, i.e., 30 seats under ICAR Quota will be filled on the basis of score in AIEEA conducted by ICAR.
• 15% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates on the basis of score in HORTICET to be conducted by the university for those candidates who have passed two-year diploma in Horticulture at the university.

YSR Horticultural University HORTICET Application Process 2022

HORTICET is conducted to offer admission to 15 seats of the available seats (47 for Govt. Aided Colleges and 36 for Private Colleges). HORTICET application form can be filled by following the given steps:

1. Download the application form from the official website of the university.
2. Send the duly filled application form along with application fee of INR 650 (INR 325 for SC/ST/PH) in the form of DD drawn in favour of the “Comptroller, The YSR Horticultural University, payable at Tadepalligudem” on any Nationalized Bank.

Apart from UG courses, YSR Horticultural University also provides admission to PG and research courses. There are various specializations offered under M.Sc programme.

The duration of M.Sc course is of 2 years, while Ph.D. programme will take 6 years to complete. The number of seats offered for M.Sc and Ph.D. programmes is 26 and 6 respectively. The eligibility for M.Sc and Ph.D. programmes is as follows:

Eligible candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the required conditions and apply accordingly before the last date. Download the application form and take a print copy of it. The selection of the candidates applying for M.Sc or Ph.D programmes will be based on the entrance test. The candidates who will qualify in the entrance test will be called for counselling session i.e. Personal Interview session. A final list will be prepared considering both the entrance exam marks and Personal Interview performance. Thus, the institute will be allotted accordingly. The detailed selection criteria will be as follows:

The Selection shall be based on the following weightage for M.Sc programme:

•  Academic performance in B.Sc – 30%
•  Academic performance in Intermediate (10+2) – 10%
• Academic performance in SSC – 50%
• Performance in Entrance test – 50%

The Selection shall be based on the following weightage for PhD programme:

• Academic record of M.Sc. (Horticulture) - 30%
• Academic record of B.Sc. (Horticulture) - 10%
• Performance in Entrance Test - 50%
• Interview – 10%
