The broadcast journalism course is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). Students will learn how to investigate, record, edit and produce news for online, radio, and television, with the option to specialize in their preferred areas in the second and third years. Students will also undertake placements at news organizations, participate in regular news days, and be encouraged to gain experience as part of Salford’s student-led broadcast, Quays News, which is supported by guest editors from the BBC and ITV.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must fulfill the entry requirements that are listed below:

GCSE: English Language and Mathematics at grade C/level 4 or above.
A level: 104-112 UCAS points, to include a grade C in Mathematics and grade C in a numerate science.
IB: 30 points to include grade 5 in Higher Level Mathematics and Physics
Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL or PTE to get admission to this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students in standard XII should score 65% in English (only when awarded from CBSE, CISCE, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana).
