The aims of the programme are:
- To advance your academic, professional and laboratory skills for employment in medical diagnostic and research environments
- To develop the knowledge and understanding you require to apply theory to practice
- To develop your transferable skills in information technology, communication, numeracy, problem solving and case study analysis.
Assessment
Students are assessed through formal examinations, presentations and case study-based reports, together with critical evaluation of data, problem-solving exercises, laboratory reports and thesis.

The programme is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and the Royal Society of Biology. Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in biological knowledge and key skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of employers.
