The Music and Music Psychology MArts programme is offered by the University of Leeds.
Students enrolling on this programme will develop their skills and knowledge in music and music psychology simultaneously; music degrees at Leeds encompass western art music, popular and world music and these are studied from the perspectives of history, theory, criticism, composition, performance and music technology. The diverse nature of this programme offers considerable freedom of choice in subject areas, allowing students to experience both breadth and focus during the four-year degree.
On the core music psychology modules, students will learn about existing research in psychology of music alongside developing domain-specific research methods. The teaching staff on this programme cover all approaches to music psychology research within their research activity which means that students will be able to pursue areas of study that are of interest and relevance to them and their future careers. The programme will also provide the training and preparation necessary for students with ambitions to study the Psychology of Music to MPhil/PhD level.
