News Journalism is the National Council for the Training of JournalistsÕ top performing postgraduate journalism course for 2016 and is aimed at those wishing to pursue a career as a news journalist, whether at a hyperlocal, regional, or national level.
You will learn the basics of how to find, produce, and publish a story using the most effective Ð and relevant Ð tools available. You will be taught how to write news, features, and opinion, how to research stories, build up contacts, and work a news patch that they are allocated.
In addition, you will also learn how to shoot short videos and stills on mobile for online reporting on our own public-facing news site and how to maximise the use of social media to share and promote your stories.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- 2:2 honors degree in any subject
- Relevant professional experience provided by any reference
- Official transcripts of all the previous school, college or universities attended
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall minimum with 5.5 in each subskill
- TOEFL IBT: minimum 90 overall with 17 in writing, 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking
- PTE Academic: 62 minimum overall with 59 in all communicative skills
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- Average of 78-81% in top 4 subjects (not including physical education) in Senior Secondary Examination (Std XII)
