Become a languages expert and discover why our modern languages courses were ranked third in the UK for overall satisfaction in The Guardian University Guide 2015. The University of Hull is one of the only universities in the country to offer dedicated language learning advisers in all our language degrees. You can opt to work as a paid language ambassador in schools and have the opportunity to experience up to three different cultures in your final year abroad.

The Combined Languages (Hons) programme gives you the opportunity to choose three languages from Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and develop high-level competence in each.

Year 3 offers a chance to study abroad, work as an English language assistant or take an industrial work placement. This degree will also give you key marketable skills to use in the employment market such as the capacity for independent study and thought, the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines, flexibility and creativity and the ability to identify, absorb and sift complex information.
