Our English Literature (Hons) programme offered at the University of Surrey will provide you with a strong grounding in canonical works and a wide range of critical approaches to literature. You will also be able to tailor your degree with a number of specialist optional modules that focus on specific periods and themes from the medieval to the contemporary and from childrenÕs literature to American fiction.ÊÊUnusually for an English Literature degree, we also offer the opportunity to undertake a Professional Training placement, giving you experience in degree-related professions such as publishing, marketing, the media industries, teaching, creative writing or arts administration.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- 30-32 points overall from the full IB diploma
- Higher levels must include matematics with level 5
English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 6.0 minimum overall with 5.5 in each subskill
- TOEFL IBT: minimum 80 overall with 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing
- Duolingo: 120 overall with no component below 100
- PTE: minimum 59 overall with 59 in each skill
- CPE: minimum 169 overall with 162 in each section
Indian Student Specific Requirements:
- 80% from ISC Indian School of certificate of Education
- 80% from SSC All India Senior School Certificate Examination
- 80% HSC Higher Secondary Certificate
