  • Journalism at the University of Gloucestershire is all about learning by doing. From creating exciting content for social media to broadcasting live from industry-standard newsrooms, students won’t just learn all the skills needed to become a multimedia journalist – students will be putting them into practice too.
  • Their journalism courses are in the top 10 for course satisfaction and teaching satisfaction, according to the Guardian University Guide 2020. On top of this, it’s one of only a handful of courses to be accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council. These are nationally recognized industry kite marks that give thier graduates a real competitive edge.
  • Students will learn practical skills, such as news and feature writing, shooting videos, and recording audio. Students will put these into practice on multimedia news days and news weeks.
  • Students will be following a curriculum that will see them taking NCTJ diploma exams alongside the university’s own assessments. Students will study for exams in the NCTJ Essential Media Law and Regulation, Videojournalism, Court Reporting, Public Affairs, Newspaper and Magazine Regulation, and Essential Journalism – while shorthand will be a part of students’s second year.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
  • Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
  • In addition, they also accept International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 26 points or Advanced Placement International Diploma with an average of Grade 3 or above for entry to undergraduate programs.
  • Once students apply, the University of Gloucestershire will invite students to interview so they can decide whether to make them an offer.

Indian Eligibility:

  • Successful completion of Higher Secondary Certificate/Indian School Certificate/Standard XII with a minimum of 65% from CISCE and CBSE boards.
  • To meet the University of Gloucestershire’s English language entry requirements, international students will need to have taken an English Proficiency test of IELTS/TOEFL or any equivalent test.
