- With internationally-recognized and award-winning teaching staff, this rare two-year MFA Photography course gives students a unique opportunity to become true experts in the field of photography.
- Led by award-winning photographer Anna Fox and supported by an exceptional team - including award-winning photographer Karen Knorr, photographer and video artist Ori Gersht, Professorial Fellow Sunil Gupta, and talented sessional staff - students will be given the tools, the freedom, and the time to hone their skills and find their professional place within the industry.
- A unique feature of this MFA Photography course is the incredible global perspectives on offer, thanks to the international nature of its student cohort, its staff, and its industry connections. The course has close ties with renowned institutions around the world, including the National Institute of Design in India, and there are opportunities to study there and at other institutions throughout Europe and China.
- Students also have the opportunity to collaborate with students from around the world on certain projects, and exhibit their work internationally, with previous graduates exhibiting work at photography festivals in China and India.
- The Farnham campus has a distinct and important history within the field of photography, and an international reputation with many renowned graduates over the years - from the late Jane Bown and Paul Seawright to David Moore and Natasha Caruana.
- Students will have more time to explore their craft and creative ideas, as well as investigating what students will do in their professional career, whether that’s practical, theoretical or a mix of the two.
- The units within the course are designed to support students along the way, as they take a hands-on and self-directed approach to their practice.
- Students will be free to discover the joy of the practice, explore different methods, materials, and theories, and hone their research skills. And, with extensive career research, students will discover which field of photography they would like to work in - and then go on relevant work placements, helping students to build vital experience and networking opportunities.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Qualifications:
- Two year’s relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to study at the postgraduate level.
- Postgraduate MA Courses - Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Postgraduate MBA Courses - A good Honours degree or equivalent qualification in the subject or a related discipline.
English Proficiency:
- Students should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university (according to NARIC), where the Method of Instruction was entirely in English (teaching and assessment). (Note: The degree must have been completed within the last 2 academic years for an MOI to be accepted).
- Or, IELTS Academic for UKVI 6.0 (with no band below 5.5).
CV:
Up to date showing academic and professional achievements – required only for MBA applicants.
One letter of Recommendation:
This is only required from applicants who have been out of education for more than 2 years.
Certificate of Finance:
- Students will be required to submit a document that has at least 9 months of the UKVI's maintenance requirement which for all 4 campuses is £9135 (1015*9) PLUS any unpaid course fees.
- The money needs to be in the form of cash funds and has been held for a minimum of 28 days and the statement cannot be older than 31 days.
Copy of Passport:
Clear scanned copy of all pages and previous UK visas including CAS (if applicable).
Immigration Form:
A paper form will be sent to students from the admissions team (after the deposit had been paid) asking students to complete details with regards to immigration history.
