GCU London, the graduate campus of Glasgow Caledonian University (one of the colossal universities in Scotland) offers only postgraduate courses and research facilities to its students from around the world. The total enrolment of students is over 20,000 including 17% of international students. It ranks consistently amongst the top 20 universities in the United Kingdom, particularly for health research. GCU London offers 17 programs at GCU London including MBA and Masters programs with a focus on the global industry enabling the option to select the full time, part-time, flexible study hours along with English language courses and pre-masters courses as well.

GCU London offers admission in the terms of summer and autumn. Prospective students can apply online or submit the completed application through email. International qualifications equivalent to UK 2:2 honors degree (~50-60%) at GCU London is the entry requirements for master's degree programs. Candidates who meet academic requirements but not English proficiency can apply for the desired courses after successful completion of the pre-sessional English Course for students during the summer and fall sessions. International students can get scholarships to study in UK worth 1600 GBP while research students can get up to 3600 GBP over three years.

GCU London, Admission Deadlines

International students are required to send their applications to GCU London prior to the deadlines to avoid the chance of rejection. GCU doesn’t consider late applications. Students should ensure the time they have to get a VISA. Due to COVID-19, the induction begins on September 29 and teaching starts from October 5. It has no strict deadlines now, however, it is recommended to apply early.

GCU London International Students Admission

Both domestic and international students pursue the postgraduate programs at GCU. Prospective international students are required to fulfill the minimum university specified requirements and qualify the exams to study in the UK. An international student should have evidence of financial support for at least one academic year. As the VISA process may take 2-3 weeks, students are encouraged to apply as early as possible, once they get notified by the university.

The online application method is very simple, where one is required to enter all personal information and documents needed to support the application. Either the completed application can be sent electronically by e-mail: admissions@gculondon.ac.uk or through post.

English Language Requirements

Non-native English speaking international students willing to study in the UK are required to demonstrate their English skills through IELTS Proficiency test scores. However, due to the great impact of COVID-19, some exams are also allowed. The other equivalent scores for IELTS scores are tabulated as follows:

Note: Cambridge tests more than two years old are not accepted, however, students should take a bachelor’s degree taught in English if the test is more than 2 years old. The letter from the institution is required for evidence.

VISA Process for International Students

Students should apply for a student visa for the UK (Tier-4 VISA) to study in the United Kingdom, for more than six months of study and it is given based on the point system. The application can be done online and its fees may vary sometime. The application fee generally is 348 EUR. Students below legal age are required to consent with guardians or parents.

GCU University, London offers 17 premier courses on postgraduate degrees along with research facilities. Since it is a post-graduate university, it doesn’t offer any undergraduate courses. Its application procedure is very simple as compared to others and has no formal deadlines. Students are requested to register as early as possible, particularly before the end of June and November. Ques. What should I do if I have completed my degree but not yet attend a graduation ceremony?

Ans. The graduation certification is required, however, as an alternative, you can send a statement of result, a passing certificate from the university.

Ques. What is the statement of purpose? What it should contain?

Ans. Clearly written with motivation for the desired program to study, educational background, and why you are looking for admission. Everything is required to include in the A4 paper, with your interest to study in the UK, if you are an international student.

Ques. I have met academic requirements, however, not the English test scores. Am I eligible to apply?

Ans. You are guaranteed to get admitted if you have met academic requirements and get notified by the university. The Pre-sessional English course (30 hours/week or 21 hours/week) will be arranged.

Ques. Are there differences in the program offered at London and Glasgow campuses?

Ans. No, the programs follow the same curriculum with the same quality and standard of programs at both campuses.
