  • Due to a decision made by the UK Home Office, Falmouth University no longer accepts TOEFL iBT test scores.TOEFL is no longer on the list of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) that the government requires for proof of English for visa purposes.
  • English proficiency can be assessed through a reference from the applicant's employer; only applicable if the applicant worked in English or a reference from an English teacher.

Visa Requirements

Applicants who wish to apply for a student’s visa need a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) statement which will be issued by the school to the applicants on meeting the admission conditions and providing the admission team with evidence to show that they have met all UK student Visa and Immigration financial requirements.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview where the admission team will look out for authorial artistic potentials and capabilities, creativity, graphic skills, drawing skills, creative writing/storytelling potential, ideas, and concepts.

Applications are also welcome and honoured from students who had certified learning and learning from self-study or work experience within the last five years. This is called Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) and is equivalent to the learning outcomes of Falmouth College of Art’s minimum entry qualifications. However, applicants using this route are required to pay a 200 GBP application fee for entry with advanced standing or with exemption from specific modules or credit.

Answer: All applicants are entitled to receive confirmation of admission application and also the name and contact details of the dedicated Applicant Services Officer who can contact with any questions.

Question: I did not study Art related programs in my previous study, can I apply for a program in an Art related field?

Answer:  Yes, but this is only applicable in some programs. If you have a portfolio of your work in Art, you may be considered for admission because the admission team access all applications on their merit and potential.

Question: My test result is older than two years and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am not able to take another one. Will the old one be accepted?

Answer: Falmouth College of Arts will consider other means of accessing your English language proficiency like the evidence of continuing use of English in the workplace or elsewhere.
