MRIET College review from Akshay (EEE)

Remarks :

We have to write entrance exams like EAMCET, and ECET to apply for this college. We can buy a management seat in college but it's too high for a middle-class family. SC and ST reservations are applicable in this college. Fee reimbursement is also applicable in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have choosen EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) in this college. In this college, our branch is a special one. We have separate blocks for labs and projects. The faculty is also good. There are enough lectures and assistant professors in college. Exams were conducted as per JNTU terms. Jntu correction is a bit hard to get pass.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities were not that great. The projects available in our college are not that great. Those were outdated projects. Out-of-scope projects. Internships are on IT industries with very low salaries.

Placement Experience :

Placements are not that great in our college. The majority of the companies they offer are like sales, which are out of the scope of our skills. They also provide IT companies like Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, etc. But the placements percentage is not that great they only take 10 to 15 members. Overall placement percentage to our college is between 30 to 40 per cent.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

We get a normal scholarship in college which includes 35,000/- fee reimbursement. The placements were not that great compared to other colleges in our area. They were just average in bringing placements to our college. The average LPA is 3.5. The majority of the placements were in sales companies rather than the IT sector.

Campus Life :

Yeah! There were separate grounds for cricket, volleyball, badminton and an indoor GYM in our college. The classrooms were well-ventilated and had sufficient computers for students. We participate in social events like haritha haram, and sports events. We even conduct sports events in our college which include a grand price for winners with just an entry fee. We conduct stalls for events in our college.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is kinda ok. They were strict in terms of timing. They only give outing upto 6.30 in evening. They won't allow any one come to hostel. The food was nice good in quality. They provide breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. They also provide non-veg two times a week. They have study hall to study in morning times in college.

Most of the students opt for core electrical jobs eventually and very few move out of this zone. Packages are upwards of 30 lpa on average and the highest package was around 60lpa overseas(Japan). A few of the students also go for MS, mtech or upsc after completing btech

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this to get a degree in computer science which I thought would be better for me. The course curriculum is good as of now. The faculty-and-student ratio is okay too. But all of the faculty here are contract-based I suppose but are of good knowledge. The faculty inspires students to gain knowledge and motivates them to be independent as much as possible. They train students to be disciplined and are strict in that term. The teachers are also well qualified and of a good experience. The term exams got postponed due to the weather conditions and state holidays but apart from that, every other exam is conducted timely. But I would blame the correction for the pass percentage of the students from the university, though you would find the paper to score well.

Great placement was there, but the packages were a bit less due to the recession. placement percent is around 98-99%. Many students go for higher studies, I am also thinking of doing MBA or preparing for UPSC. The highest packege this year was around 70-72 lpa.
