Remarks :
To join NIT Agartala one should give jee mains and get a good score. You can find the application form for Jee Mains on the nta official website. The application fee is 1000 for general category students. There are reservations for SC/ST category students during counseling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is good and some teachers are awesome. In the first year, many of them are contractual. But some of them are very helpful. There are 3-4 classes a day. Most of the teachers have PhD in their respective fields. Mid-term and end-term exam syllabus is solely covered in the notes of teachers. Studying from a week before exams can help you to score well.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies like Google, Amazon, TCS, and Mindtree provide internships in our college. Interested students can register for internships in the third year. some of the top roles given include SDE, Analyst, assistant engineer, etc.
Placement Experience :
Students can do internship from 3rd year. Many internships are provided to all the eligible students. Companies like Amazon, Google, Seimens, Mindtree, Indian oil, IBM, NTPC, Polaris etc recruit from our college. This year (2023) the highest package was 52 LPA which was given to CSE, ECE and EE department students. The average package for electrical engineering department was 11.52 LPA. Above 90% of students are placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is good and even middle-class students can afford it. It costs around 1.35 lakhs for tuition fees for the first year and around 80 thousand rupees for a hostel. There is a tuition fee waiver for SC and SC category students and 100% remission for general students with an annual income of less than 1 lakh.
Campus Life :
The campus is great and the infrastructure is fabulous. There are a total of 9 hostels on the campus. 7 for boys and 2 for girls. There is a library which has all kinds of books required and also a digital library. The sports complex of NIT Agartala is the biggest among NITs. There are many clubs like photography, dance and singing, sports, coding, literary clubs, etc. Classrooms are okay with one greenboard and one whiteboard. There is also a projector in each class.
Hostel Facilities :
First-year and third-year students are allocated RNT Hostel. Two students are allocated a single room. There are two cots, one study table, and a fan in each room. There is also a cupboard. Mess food is not so satisfactory. South mess is available from the second year.
