AIML worth the hype

Remarks :

The eligibility is very simple, the criteria for admission are based on 12th class marks, and the admission process is completely online, you need to first register in oamdc portal after the Andhra Pradesh government releases UG admission notification after 12th class results. After the registration process is completed you will get a date when you can select different colleges and courses of your wish. Later you will get an allotment letter telling you about the course and college you got admitted to based on your 12th marks and reservation. There are no cutoff details provided on the college website or oamdc portal, but for general category students 85-90% marks is required to get into this bsc(AIML) course. You can also avail EWS reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview :

When iam studying in 12th standard I heard about this course which was newly introduced, then I did research about it and found it interesting, so I opted for this course. Coming to exams, every program has 2mid exams and and sem end exam, mid exams are conducted on a monthly basis that is for 30 days and 60 days and sem is conducted after 90 days, mid papers are prepared by teaching faculty and are mostly based on model papers and important questions told by faculty. The faculty is well qualified but many of them lack practical knowledge and real-time experience according to me. The student-faculty ratio is also good because a faculty can easily handle 50 students.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for placements in their last year, some times even after completion of the degree, many big companies and firms like Wipro, TCS, Infosys, jio, Deloitte, cap Gemini, hetero, Reedy Labs, hcl, etc. hire students here, last year. More than 600 placements were recorded on the campus. The college didn't mention the percentage of students placed anywhere but according to me, it is very low around 10%. I am thinking of doing a job after graduation if get a good placement else I will purse my master's.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee amount is 33000 per year, you have to pay 16 thousand for 1st sem and another 17 thousand for 2nd sem, and you can pay the fee amount in any number of installments you want before the semester ends exams. Apart from the fee amount you will need an additional 3000 rupees for buying records, books, additional courses, events etc. You will get appreciated with a cash prize if you score very good marks, there is no type of scholarship provided by the college as of my knowledge, but you can get a government scholarship (JVD) also known as reimbursement for poor students.

Campus Life :

Every year in the month of January computer science department organizes a blitz criez event. Which is one of the big events in Vijayawada city in which students across different colleges participate. The library is big enough it has almost every book we need, you Will be provided with 3 library cards through which we can take 3 books home for a period of 15 days. Some classrooms have a Wi-Fi facility, like the BBA BA class, and some classrooms have a power socket for charging laptops, The rooms are not Ait conditioned but the fans and lights work very well, and every class has a projector. The benches are also in proper condition. In our college, there are more than 10 clubs namely the good habits club, tautology club, talent club... ETC, we also have 2NSS units and 4NCC wings.

The term exams at Dr. vs. Krishna government degree college are conducted in a timely manner, following a structured academic calendar. The exams are fair and evaluate the student's understanding of the topics covered in class. While the exams can be challenging, they are designed to assess the student's knowledge and skills accurately. The faculty members also provide support and guidance to help students prepare for the exams effectively.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate in the placement drive and attend a preliminary round in their last semister or after graduation also. In the year 2021, more than 6 hundred students are placed among all groups in the college in core and non-core jobs. Companies like HCl TCS infosys, jiomart, hetero drugs, dellote, l&T, Mahindra, vivo and many others companies visited our college to conduct placement drives. The average package is around 2.5-3lpa and to my knowledge, the highest package is 7-8lakhs per year. Approximately 20 per cent of students get placed. I will Complete my honours degree after my normal degree.
