Remarks :
First of all, to get admission to NIT Kurukshetra, we need to clear the JEE Main exam with proper cutoff marks. Application form is released every year for JEE Main exam which is held twice a year. We need to clear the cutoff which varies according to course to course. Then councelling is done where the preference is given and then students are selected on the basis of their JEE Main Exam Rank.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I joined this course as I had an interest in this particular core subject and as per my research, this is one of the best institutions for this course. The course curriculum is according to national standards set by NIT. All the faculties are highly qualified, and all have done their PhD in their particular fields. Faculty to student ratio is approximately 50:1 but all of them are very helpful. There are two mid-semester exams and one end-semester exam every semester. It is moderately tough to pass those exams.
Internships Opportunities :
There are a lot of companies which visit nit campus for internship opportunities for students. Last year there were more than 300 companies which visited campus including Amazon, Microsoft, Google etc. These internships help students to get actual knowledge of what they were studying theoretically.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure varies according to family income. Students with less family income are given waivers in their semester fees. Other national scholarships are also provided to deserving students. There are numerous opportunities for placements and jobs on campus.
Campus Life :
Life at the NIT Kurukshetra campus is literally great. Students get numerous opportunities to explore themselves and their inner potential. There are two annual fests which are - Confluence (Annual Cultural Fest) and Techsparda (Annual Tech Fest) which are held in September and October respectively. All classes are very well equipped. There are a number of sports facilities and also a very big library for studies.
Hostel Facilities :
There are 10 Hostels for undergrads which are pretty good as per their conditions. Students are provided with a bed, study table, chair, wardrobe etc. in their rooms. Mess is indirectly run by students with the help of their elected representatives as Mess Committee members. The food quality is good but in a few hostels, it is not up to the mark. Hostels are really affordable and registration happens after coming to campus by filling out the hostel allotment form.
