If you get 258 marks then you will hold a rank between 2200-2500. There are two campuses in CUSAT i.e. first- SOE and second CUCEK.

As per the current cutoff trends, it’s likely that you’ll be able to choose any branch on the second campus. But on the first campus, it will be difficult to get CSE because the 2020 cutoff required for CSE was 1037. So you can expect branches other than CSE, FIRE & SAFETY, and NAVEL on the first campus.

It will be better to try for IT on the first campus rather than CSE on the second campus and there is no difference in placement for both. It totally depends on your knowledge.
