New IIMs are far behind B-Schools such as FMS, SP JAIN, XLRI, and NITIE. These institutes score far ahead of new IIMs in terms of academics, peer group, brand value, and placements. These are among the most reputed B-Schools in the country and in many factors, these institutes score ahead of even older IIMs such as IIM A, IIM B, and IIM C.

Faculty is one of the factors that make a B-school great. Having a great teaching faculty team is a challenge for most of the IIMs nowadays. The older and more renowned colleges get an advantage over the new IIMs.

The professor at any institute imparts their knowledge to the students and if the teaching faculty is not great, one can not expect much from their passing batch.

In all of the above-mentioned institutions,

  1. XLRI has a great faculty team. It is well known for its excellence in HR specialization.
  2. SP Jain is well renowned for Finance.
  3. NITIE is known for Operations.

This excellence is directly related to the quality of their teaching faculty team. Thus it may be concluded that some of the top institutes do give tough competition to some low ranked IIMs.
