If you are considering pursuing an MBA from top colleges like IIM, XLRI, or ISB even after already obtaining an MBA from a local college and working for the last 2 years, the good news is that it is possible.

Here are some things to consider:

  • Pursuing a second MBA can be a great way to enhance your knowledge and skills and potentially open up new career opportunities.
  • It's important to have a clear understanding of your career goals before deciding to pursue another MBA. Make sure you're not just doing it for the sake of doing it.
  • Keep in mind that MBA programs at top colleges can be highly competitive, so you'll need to make sure you have a strong application that showcases your achievements and potential.
  • In addition to strong academics and work experience, admissions committees will also be looking for evidence of leadership, teamwork, and other important soft skills.
  • Another factor to consider is the cost of pursuing an MBA, especially if you'll need to take time off work or relocate to attend a full-time program.
  • However, there are also part-time and online MBA programs that can offer more flexibility for working professionals.
  • If you do decide to pursue a second MBA, it's important to be transparent about your previous degree and work experience in your application and interviews.

Be prepared to explain why you feel another MBA is necessary and how it will help you achieve your career goals.

Finally, keep in mind that an MBA is just one part of your overall career journey. It's important to continue learning and growing throughout your career, regardless of whether or not you pursue another degree.

IIM MBA in Finance

Yes, you can certainly pursue a double MBA if you are interested. Yet, if you are planning to pursue a double MBA, then you must choose your college very thoroughly. It will definitely add more value to your career, given that you have already pursued and completed an MBA degree once.

Nonetheless, in India, you can most certainly look forward to institutes like ISB after about 3 years of experience in a similar field. Other than that, you also can opt for Executive Education programs which are mostly offered by various premier institutes. These programs, however, will also require you to have a minimum of about 6 or more years of experience.

But in terms of pursuing a double MBA, your aim must have been driven by either of the several listed factors,

  1. Industry shift
  2. Role shift
  3. Brand Upgrade
  4. Position Jump

In any case whatsoever, a salary hike is possible. While in some other cases, an immediate salary jump is not generally seen, but you can unquestionably restart your career by reaching a better brand that can take you to several “Tier-1 College” brand companies. Thus to say, a double MBA can be a good and realistic choice nonetheless.
