When it comes to an MBA everyone talks about IIM, FMS or XLRI. Is PGDM or a degree from any other reputed B-School like IMT, Symbiosis, or MDI not worth mentioning?

Although all of them are good B-schools, there are slight differences between them. The following factors make IIM, FMS, and XLRI prime brands when it comes to MBA.

• Every IIM is carrying a legacy of IIM Tag. In the current market, the number of IIM Degree holders is much higher than others. IIMs have a long history and they have branches all over India.
• XLRI and FMS come in the next group of IIM ABC. The courses offered by these institutes are highly reputed.
• MDI, JBIMS, SPJAIN, and new IIMs are the next in order. These colleges are trying their best to achieve the benchmark set by IIM ABC. 

So, it’s all about perception and ranking that makes IIM, FMS, XLRI stand out from the other management institutes. Although the brand tag might help you a lot, if you study hard in other mentioned good B-schools you can be at par with IIM.
