You may receive calls from XLRI, and FMS, if you score well on the entrance test. These institute doesn’t assign high weightage to past academic score. If you can score above 99.5 percentile in CAT, you may receive calls from IIM C, L, and I.

IIM A and B have high weightage for past academics. If your academic record isn’t good. It’s not likely that you will receive a call.

If your academics are not good then you must forget about IIMA and IIMB. You will not get a call from them. The average marks collectively in 10th and 12th should be 80% and above for CAT. It is only then that your application will be considered and followed by an interview.

  • IIMB gives a lot of importance to your school-level academics- particularly when it is high school.
  • At IIMC, they would only bother to call if you have a score that goes beyond the 99.8 percentile. Other than that, you will not receive a call.
  • If IIMs are considered, they are still a little lenient as they would only call you if you have a good CAT score.

For XLRI and FMS, you should not worry as academic scores are not taken into much consideration. If you have even scored 50% with a good score in CAT and XAT, you will have a chance there.
