What are the names of the MBA entrance exams (except CAT) that most B-schools prefer?

Apart from the CAT examination the other competitive exams which are preferred in MBA admissions area as follows:

1. XAT - This examination is preferred in XLRI, XISS, SPJAIN, etc.
2. NMAT - This examination is preferred in NMIMS, IBS, Amity etc
3. SNAP - This exam is conducted by Symbiosis Institute of Management for its admission to the MBA program.
4. IIFT - This exam is conducted by IIFT Delhi and Kolkata.
5. MAHCET (state-wise exam) - This exam is preferred in JBIMS in Mumbai
6. MICAT – This examination is preferred in admission at MICA (Mass Media and Communication)
7. GMAT – This examination is preferred for admission at the Indian School of business
8. TISSNET - This examination is preferred for admission at TISS (Social Sciences)
9. IBSAT - This examination is preferred for admission at ICFAI Business School (IBS)
10. CMAT and MAT –This exam is conducted for those institutions which do not prefer CAT scores. This exam is conducted by AICTE.

After CAT, one of the popular exams is XAT and CMAT. If you haven’t appeared for them, most B-schools will ask for score of their state-based examination.
