Yes, DTU provides lateral entry. DTU LEET (Delhi Technological University Lateral Entry Engineering Test) is conducted by the college through which students can get direct admission in the third semester of BTech programs. DTU provides 14 courses for BTech admission. Only those candidates who have completed a Diploma in Engineering can apply for it.
Admission is given on the basis of a 2-hour written exam conducted by the college and a merit list is prepared on the basis of the examination scores. The advantage that the late entrants have over others is that they don’t have to qualify through appearing in JEE Main or any other competitive exam.
The courses available under the program are Polymer Science and Chemical Technology, Mathematics and Computing, Engineering Physics, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, and many more.
The syllabus for DTU LEET is released by the college every year on their website. One of the things to be concerned about here is that it’s not guaranteed that you would be able to get the same branch which you had in your diploma as it depends on the number of seats available for a specific course. So, there are students who get admission through lateral entry but end up opting for a branch totally different from what they studied in their diploma, so it’s for you to decide whether you want to choose this option or not.
