IIM Ahmedabad admissions are done on a number of factors, CAT percentile being one of them. The final selection is based on CAT performance, AWT & PI performance, and Application Rating Score. Considering you are a general category student marks required in subsequent areas have been tabulated below

IIM Ahmedabad CAT cut off is mentioned in the table below:

The 10th and 12th cut-off is mentioned in the table below:

The bachelor cut-off is mentioned in the table below:

AC-1

68.92

AC-2

83.37

AC-3

AC-4

The shortlisting for the WAT/PI phase is based on:

  • Preliminary Screening- Securing Minimum CAT Percentile and Application rating score (weightage based on marks obtained in Class X, XII, and Bachelors degree).
  • Composite Score= 0.3( Normalised AR score)+0.7(Normalised Overall CAT score).

I hope I made it clear!

IIM Ahmedabad puts a lot of weight on past academics. You need to have a consistently good academic record in order to get a shortlist. Students with diverse backgrounds and 90+ percentile from 10th onwards have a good chance of getting a shortlist, even if their CAT score is comparably lower. Students from non-engineering backgrounds have a good chance of getting into IIM Ahmedabad with a lower CAT percentile.

The brand value and the reputation of the college are very high and the college tries to maintain that by enrolling good quality students. This is done by setting a high cutoff in the CAT examinations.

  • The general cutoff in the CAT examination should be between 95-99 percentiles in order to get selected for a personal interview.
  • The cutoff for getting admission into different IIM is different but it is compulsory for every student to give the CAT examination to get admission at IIM A.
  • The cutoff also varies for different sections in the examination. The cut-off is also different for reserved categories.
  • A weightage of 70 percent is given to CAT score and 30% to Personal interview in IIM admissions.

In order to get 99 percentile in the CAT examination, you will have to score 70-75 marks in each section and the reserved category will have to score 50-65 marks in each section. You also need to have a good academic score in order to get admission at IIM.
