Btech from BIT Mesra

The minimum marks required in JEE Main to get Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at BIT Mesra vary from year to year, depending on factors such as the number of applicants, their JEE Main scores, and the availability of seats.

However, to give you an idea, in 2021, the opening and closing ranks for CSE at BIT Mesra were 2293 and 5442, respectively, for the Home State quota. For the Other State quota, the opening and closing ranks were 1608 and 4081, respectively.

It is important to note that admission to BIT Mesra's CSE program is based on a combination of JEE Main scores and the marks obtained in the Class 12 board exams. The specific criteria and weightage given to each component may vary from year to year, so it's essential to keep an eye on the institute's official website for the latest updates.

Marks have no role in getting admissions to a college. It’s just the JEE Mains AIR. 15 people having the same marks might be having different ranks and the college might be having only 10 seats to offer admissions on. The top 10 rankers with the same ranks would get admission to those 10 seats and the rest won’t.

If you appeared for JEE Mains this year and are waiting for the counseling, you can probably google the cutoff rank of any college of your choice. You can even predict your college through the various tools available online. But if you are talking about JEE Mains 2021, then you should probably wait till the counseling gets over for the latest updated cutoffs, and later you can go and google about the cutoff of any college of your choice.

Considering the cutoffs for the year 2020:

  • After round 1 of JOSAA counseling, the opening rank was 8942 and the closing rank was 15427. The opening rank for other state candidates was 2980 while the closing rank was 8774.
  • After round 6 of JOSAA counseling, the opening rank for the home state subcategory was 11320 and the closing rank was 16364. The opening rank for other state candidates was 3050 and the closing rank was 10779.

Hope this helps.
