Which is better: IIT BHU or BITS, Pilani ?

Both IIT BHU and BITS Pilani have their strengths and what career you wish to pursue will decide which of the two will be a better option for you.

If students get the same branch at both institutions, they mostly end up choosing IIT BHU. However, most people are offered a better branch at BITS Pilani (main campus) than IIT BHU.

Here are the different parameters for a comparison between the two-

Coding Culture and Tech Jobs- Similar tech companies visit BITS Pilani and IIT BHU for placements. In terms of ACM ICPC and GSOC performance though, IIT BHU is ahead of BITS Pilani

Non-Tech Jobs- Similar companies visit the campus for placements. However, BITS Pilani has an edge over IIT BHU.

Core Jobs- Here IIT BHU gets the advantage of its IIT tag. Supply chain companies visit the IITs in a larger number.

Startup Culture- BITS Pilani students have created great startups over time. The richest Indian-American is an IIT-BHU alumnus, he founded four highly successful startups.

Higher education- The alumni of IIT BHU and BITS Pilani pursue their masters in top universities in the USA. US universities give opportunities to IITians, and BITS students get the chance because of a huge alumni base with successful alumni in the research field.

Location and campus- Varanasi is a tier 2, whereas, Pilani is a tier 3 city. In comparison to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, life in them is a lot different. Inside the campus, life at both is very similar.

Fees- The course fees at BITS Pilani are much higher because it is a private university.

Both institutions are great in every aspect. However, one has a slight advantage over the other in the different aspects as discussed above. No matter whether you choose BITS Pilani or IIT BHU, you are sure to learn a lot and get selected for well-paying jobs. You must work hard to achieve your goals.

Although both colleges are highly reputed, IIT BHU has a slight edge over BITS Pilani for the IIT tag. Also, for securing a place in IIT BHU one needs to qualify the JEE Advanced exam which is one of the toughest exams. On the contrary, BITS Pilani requires you to qualify BITSAT, which is comparatively easier than JEE Advance.

Admission and semester fees at IIT BHU is far less than BITS Pilani. This is because BITS Pilani is a private institute, while IIT BHU is a centrally funded institute. In addition to these factors, IIT BHU provides a number of courses to choose from which are not offered by other reputed universities. Some of such courses are Ceramic Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Mining Engineering. Both these institutes offer experienced faculties from subject backgrounds. Also, if you aspire to go for higher studies in future, you should give precedence to IIT BHU over BITS Pilani, as having the hallmark of IIT offers a lot of opportunities.

BITS Pilani conducts 3 fests which are -BOSM, OASIS, APOGEE. IIT BHU, on the other hand, conducts SPARDHA, KASHI YATRA, TECHNEX. OASIS is one of the largest fests in the country.

Both IIT BHU and BITS, Pilani are good institutions and have their pros and cons, so choose according to your convenience.
