My friend studies there and I've visited the campus from time to time, and life there is absolutely blissful because of its location, environment, social life, and recreational activities available.

NIT Surathkal as an academic institution also ranks #13 on NIRF's Engineering Ranking. Here are some fun facts-

  • Being in Karnataka, it only has two seasons most of the time, i.e. rainy and summery. It makes visits to the beaches nearby and to NIT's own private beach an extremely beautiful experience. Also, there are peacocks on the campus!
  • Most of the faculty is very helpful and erudite, you'd face no trouble in interacting with some of them, while some others will be stricter as well.
  • The campus has good clubs like the Computer Society of India and the Robotics Club. There are some excellent cultural clubs too.
  • The placements are excellent, 100% of students have been placed in 2021. The average package offered was 22 LPA and the highest domestic package was given by ATALISAN Bangalore, which was INR 49 lakhs. Many sought-after companies like Google, Microsoft, Sprinkler, etc came for recruitment this year too.

In the day you'd be preoccupied with classes, assignments and a bit of petty politics and at night there'll be trips to the night canteen, as there are no hostel timings fixed for boys. Social life will be excellent, as you'd get to interact with students from different backgrounds and seniors add to the fun of residing there.
